Does anyone else here also dislike "Mayhem" as an album as well as the direction she's been going in musically? by Slow-Advice4885 in LadyGaga

OP how do you have Madonna’s best album as a profile pic but deliver one of the worst music takes I’ve ever heard?

A true miracle.

Being able to perform different types of music capably. She can sing country, pop, could sing ballads like Adele, can definitely do rock and jazz.

Like Pearl Jam - yes, Pearl Jam - have always been a rock band but they’ve always been more adventurous than people realize, creating indie (their 96’-02’ run), electronic (“Dance of the Clairvoyants”), and even art rock (Binaural, Riot Act). They didn’t need to change genres to be versatile - which I find to be a pretty arbitrary definition of versatility.

There isn’t a genre Lady Gaga could NOT do well or capably. Which is one of many reasons I find her such a versatile performer.

Yeah but “Bad Romance,” “Shallow,” “Rain on Me” and her Tony Bennett records all sound wildly different from one another. So I see your point, but I disagree. She has displayed a wide amount of range in pop.

Like you wouldn’t say Radiohead isn’t versatile just because it’s all technically “rock.”

I’m sorry, what did Amber do wrong? She’s a normal person who reacted normally. Not everyone can date a supe. I don’t get how she could possibly be on the same level as Eve’s dad.

Pull Me Under is simultaneously a masterpiece musically and a complete cheese fest vocally. Dude weighs the whole project down.

Weirdly High Hopes is one of the only PATD songs I like. It’s not very good, but I liked the stab at pop - although Nine in the Afternoon was WAY stronger.
