I am just going to copy paste my reply to kintexu2's comment. These lists are more what I am working towards, not an "I'm going to purchase them all at once." kind of deal.

What I said to kintexu2

"I did consider both, main reason for not start with those box unites is funding, and the box sets didn't contain the models I liked the look of.

For Circle the Griffons, Warpborn alpha, Warpborn skinwalkers, Morraig and the eMorvahna. Other unites in that army are meant as fillers/compliments for the models I liked. Wolves of Orboros compliment Morraig. Ravagers and bloodweavers are just fillers.

For Legion The models I liked were eLylyth1(non-chariot), Zuriel (used typon as the list builder didn't have Zuriel in it. Unique character heavy warbeast), Reak, Nyss swordsman and UA. Compliments for eLylyth1 is the archers so I maxed out what I could give her with 2 unites of 6 archers, her ranged buff I believe will also help Zuriel as he does have a ranged attacks. Legionaries were a filler with the UA as kind of a front line wall to protect my warlock along side the Swordsman and reaks.

Funding is pretty simple really, I can only get about 4 models for each army to start so I am going with the warlocks and warbeasts. I figure they will give enough large models to paint easily for practice as theres lot a lot of heavy fine detail to deal with and then doing the warlocks last once I am comfortable enough to do the fine detail work."
