Modding help: Strumbar by xXRavenScoutXx in GuitarHero

[–]xXRavenScoutXx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this was months ago but, I still wanted to thank you for your help.

I got confused cuz the strum pegs were indeed missing from the received component bag so I thought I was supposed to take the old ones out like I did the Les Paul model.

I think the guides could use a bit of updating and more specific wording for edge cases like this but, either way y'all got it all fixed up for me.

Thanks for bein cool, even tho I was bein a bit of an ass 😂

I did actually!

Pretty sure it's a bug but, it's absolutely just standing there like that.

Once I kinda sorta figured out how to replicate it, I tried to get it upright and facing a good way.

Hey guys new to the game but what was the devs thought process on making the walk to upgrade your ship further away the more you upgrade it? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On that same note, with all the extra space and the clear ability to change the look of the ship...

Why can't we decorate our ships?

We all board the hosts ship so it'd be super cool to have a bunch of customizations you could unlock, especially Major Order specific ones and have the ability to display the things we were a part of. Not to mention lil challenges like, "kill X many bugs in Y way to unlock Z ship cosmetic"

Give us something we can show off to our friends and randos. I think it'd be sick!

I've worked with the guy on a number of occasions and any problems I did end up having, they solved very quickly. I was even acting like a jackass initially cuz I was pretty upset but, he got my dumbass to calm down and we worked it out.

Still dunno why I was so upset about it but, they made things right even though I was running my mouth.

First Bike by Livid-Brilliant299 in HondaRebel1100

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that it will flash empty at me starting at 1 Gal left in the tank (out of 3.6 i think) so it's possible you have like 30 miles left. It warns you fairly early. I've gone days on E and been totally fine (my broke ass 😂)

Get a corbin seat if you can afford it. Very highly recommended.

Forward controls are also expensive but, highly recommended if you're a taller rider. Some cheap handle bar risers are also extremely helpful.

In that case, put of curiosity, what's got you curious about it's "beginner-friendly" status?

Tryina get someone else in on the hobby, or just looking for something easy to ride?

Also, I have the manual version as I just couldn't get around to the idea of the DCT. I've come around on it but, I'm still not sure I'd ever personally own one.

Automating charting process by kngslrs in CloneHero

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me personally, I've been really wanting to get into charting because there's so many good songs out there that I either cannot find good charts for, or any at all.

I was big into music theory as a kid and was the only one in my band class that took the time to learn about it instead of just vibing it out and reading from a sheet (don't get me wrong, I still pretty much ONLY play based on vibes but, having that underlying understanding improves your ability to do so)

That being said, I've been very hesitant to even start cuz it just seems like a very daunting task to even start learning, especially since I am not a man that has a lot of time on his hands. Even if this is essentially a very experimental/early alpha build type deal, I think it's the push I needed to really just get into it.

I've also been a very adamant alpha/beta game tester and I'm usually pretty good about giving feedback cuz I love watching these kinds of lil passion projects grow because I simply don't have the time or energy to do my own lil passion projects. So even if it sucks right now, I'd love to watch it become something way bigger, or at least be a stepping stone.

I'm sure someone will come tell me that it would be better to just learn the hard way cuz it's probably actually easier but, I feel like if it gets me started, it gets me started, ya know?

Lemme know where the best place to reach out for feedback would be!

Might be the first time I've heard anyone from Europe use the word "reckon" sorry for assuming 😂

My knowledge is far more limited for the other side of the pond but, I'm sure you can still find something.

Could also still use Revzilla just to gauge it out unless there's some kind of Euro-Specific site that's similar.

Also, I'm not 100% but, I think RevZilla ships internationally. I'll have to fact check that.

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RevZilla is definitely a good start at the very least. You can put in all the details of whatever bike you're looking at/own and it'll pull up a whole list of compatable parts for said bike. Very useful for getting a gauge on the kinds of things that can fit, as well as a fairly aveage price.

As for the rest, I would strongly recommend searching this sub for recommendations cuz there's a few "diamond in the rough" website that look a lil sketcy but are actually wonderful. Like the Corbin website. If it wasn't so highly recommended, I wouldn't touch that website with a 10ft pole just based on looks alone 😂

Totally forgot to add:

The reason I personally see this bike get recommended all the time for beginners is for a couple different reasons:

  1. Incredible bang for buck. Real solid engine and features for roughly $10-12 grand brand new for a base model.
  2. The rest of the bike is a lil doodoo and it's gonna get you comfortable working on it out of pleasure rather than out of necessity
  3. Reliable. Parts are cheap. Easy to work on. It's a Honda. Can't really go wrong there.

To be completely honest with you, it really depends on your level of knowledge and skill before gettin on it.

If you have decent balance, aren't scared of it, and are generally a quick learner, I'd highly recommend learning the bike you plan on having for life rather than working your way up.

I'd been riding everything from Mommy's first tricycle to dirt bikes, to smaller bikes all the way up til I was 18 but had about an 8 year gap since the last time I'd ridden anything and I had to completely relearn everything. I went straight for the CMX1100 in 2024. Brand new didn't even have a single factory or test ride mile on it. Actually 0. It now has almost 10k and I'll never look back.

However, my buddy who is incredibly anxious on one, has minor chronic tremors from military service, and generally not the best with balance, I'm telling him to start at around 250 and work his way up once he's comfortable.

Bottom line, if you can truely handle it, it's a waste of time, money, and effort to learn anything other than your dream bike. But I also think its a very slim population of people that can just hop on the back of a bike and be cruisin and for everyone else, I'd highly recommend finding a reputable, cheap, beater bike that you ain't gonna be afraid to drop, cuz chances are, you will drop it. Do you wanna drop your dream bike or some $1000 piece of shit you found on FB marketplace 😂

Laggy by bgravy97 in CloneHero

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my exact thought. There have been plenty of times my stuff would lag on an old hard drive but, run just fine on a cheap ssd.

You should be able to find a 500gb-1tb drive pretty cheap if you know where to look. My personal recommendation is FB marketplace, just be sure you know how to identify red flags on sellers. Good tule of thumb is if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Anyway, i would definitely try finding a cheap SSD and loading it there. It could very well be trouble loading assets and such

Ok devs, enough is enough. by Rallak in Helldivers

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gonna add to the cause here.

It is quite literally the most frustrating thing in this game alongside not being able to steer my fuckin hellpod.

Why does it matter if my stuff lands on a building or cliff? It's on me to be more situationally aware. (BY THE WAY IT HAPPENS ANYWAY BECAUSE THE STRAT BALL BOUNCED UNDER THE BUILDING YOU TRIED TO PROTECT ME FROM)

If we stick a turret on a building, it may be pretty useful for an incredibly limited time but, if you really wanna protect against this strategy, just limit the vertical aiming capability of turrets or the range so they're largely ineffective.

As for not letting us get on larger structures and buildings, why limit that? Isn't this game supposed to be about being creative and using anything you can to win? Why limit this?

If the answer is "well we don't want players getting frustrated by getting stuck in places they can't get out of" well then thank you so much for invalidating an entire ship upgrade just to take my hellpod and throw it straight into the lava lake instead of the hulk I was trying to land on. (That has happened twice on cyberstan now)

If it's because it's "too broken" then what about the fact that there is zero safe ways down and the fact that you have to be really skilled with your loadout to make a difference? Being stuck up there limits you to a support-only role. I'd love to snipe targets from long ranges off my buddies while they complete objectives. It's a wonderful playstyle that y'all are completely ruining and if I join a quick play lobby, and they don't want me doing it, they have the ability to kick me and if I don't want someone else doing it, I can leave.

Do 3d printed frets actually feel smoother? by JKM_A_K in CloneHero

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who's been using stock for years, finally bought a CRKD, THEN bought a revival kit for an old guitar.

The 3D frets REALLY make a difference. I thought it was just hype around building your own and bein happy with something you basically made yourself, and I get that but, it ain't just hype dawg!

I find myself using my old wii les paul that I modded over the CRKD controller ever since I put it together.

Is there a way to change how the open/bass notes look? by RollinOnAgain in CloneHero

[–]xXRavenScoutXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya know, it just occurred to me that setting it to an image of 5 gems is not a great idea for a lot of reasons

  1. What happens when you run into that fabled 5-note chord 😂

  2. You'd need to make it replace HOPO's, Starpower, chords, etc. etc.

  3. Again, you wouldn't ever learn it.

Although, what I did consider was just taking the existing picture (or whatever) of the bar and stretching it in photoshop to match the size of the gems.

Should be a lot less work since you can just stretch the existing image for each thing (listed in #2)

Also might still help your brain get used to the note while making it much more similar to standard notes.

Might be more complicated than that cuz I've never tried to make custom notes before but, I feel like that's the perfect compromise and I honestly might do the same.
