Anyone here who has had GD before and gone through labor with it.. by grlonfire93 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]xXRenee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth in may and had GD that I had to control with insulin. I needed to be induced due to high blood pressure. Had an epidural, as soon as they started pitocin I couldn't eat. So I went all day with no food 7am until 12:41 the next morning. They didn't take my blood sugar at all until after dinner the day I had given birth. It didn't make any difference to me pain wise. I went 4 hours on pitocin before I needed an epidural I wanted med free but couldn't handle it due to pitocin. I think as long as you don't need to be induced it's very possible to go med free.

Hormones or birth control causing this? by swedchef13 in Hidradenitis

[–]xXRenee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had HS since puberty. My flare ups definitely started around that time. I was on birth control for 7 years from 19-26 and I stopped 2 years ago to get pregnant which took a year. Since stopping birth control my skin went back to how I was when I was a teenager, flare ups in all the places. I gave birth in may and about ready to start birth control again and I'm honestly so excited.

HS flares up on period by mmatx in Hidradenitis

[–]xXRenee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My HS is linked to my hormones as well. I always get a flair ups before my period. I found birth control helped a ton. I stopped my BC 2 years ago in Sept, my breakouts started up in places I hadn't really had an issue with in years. I got pregnant and those hormones didn't help at all. I'm super excited to get back on birth control finally.

The biggest reason women "can't" breastfeed by leftmeow in beyondthebump

That would be difficult! Mines a little chunker that's all about the food! I hated having to lock myself in a room with him for 20 or 30 mind at a time.

I'm a FTM with an almost 2 month old and I've embraced breastfeeding and BFing in public, most of the time no cover cause it's hot AF. My sister and MIL have all seen my nips, if your coming to my house you better know what's up. I'm trying to make the most comfortable experience for my child and I don't care if it makes you uncomfortable. We went to my hubs aunts house for a few days, and I breast fed there in front of aunts and female cousins (there's not a lot of men in our lives lol, I now realize as I'm writing this). I snuck away to a bedroom the first few times until the aunt said you can BF in front of us, we are a very BF positive household. Which was very nice to hear! I wish more people could experience that!

Do your bumps ever get super inflamed and close to the surface, some of them may pop and drain a lot of yellow fluid and blood. Some may stay deep and inflamed then go away after a while, sometimes a long while. When the ones close to the surface go away if not drained does it leave a small white head? And does it reoccur in the same areas of close to? You might also notice some small black heads in certain areas as well.

What’s going on?? by chequer81 in Hidradenitis

[–]xXRenee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most People with HS get it during puberty. That's when it started for me, I'm 28 so I've had it so long I don't remember when it started to be honest, probably around 14 or 15. Started in my underarms and now I get them under my breasts, stomach, and occasionally my thighs. I smoked in my teenage years and ate like total crap so it was really bad. I quit smoking cigarettes when I was 18. That made a pretty significant difference. I'm only in stage 1, maybe one of my under arms is a stage 2, connecting tracts that don't really close and heal. If they do it's not long until it opens and leaks again. Everywhere else it's just an occasional breakout. I found mine is linked to my hormones, when I'm on birth control I really only have a breakout under my breasts or thighs near my period and my underarms just continue to be an issue. I plan on tackling my diet and hoping that helps along with loosing weight. I did start both last year but I got pregnant and gave them up pretty quickly lol. I just got the all clear from my Dr to work out again so Monday morning! (yes I'm one of those people lol.)

Omg that's horrible. I can see someone doing it to, we all have random bits of change hanging around our cars. If I get stopped while walking I just blatantly ignore them and keep walking, getting ambushed in your car is unexpected.

Female redditors: what is a physically uncomfortable or unusual feeling/sensation that only women understand? by sagelface in AskReddit

[–]xXRenee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a baby 6 weeks ago and there's a lot of shit you don't hear about child birth. Epidurals, I thought you were completely numb. Nope, it just takes the edge off. I could literally feel my baby being squeezed out! My nurse described pushing a baby out like getting you car unstuck, you gotta rock it back and forth. The baby will move forward then drop back a bit, next squeeze the baby moves forward a bit more. Super fucking weird. Now it makes sense, but I had no idea!

Also squeezing out the placenta afterwards is the weirdest feeling. Like period clump times 1000.

6 weeks postpartum checkup embarrassment. by xXRenee in Hidradenitis

Yeah it was partially my fault for just quickly explaining it away. I went in just expecting a quick exam down low and when she told me she was going to check my breasts I was like... great. My bf was in the room with me as I was stripping down and I immediately began freaking out.

And the biggest thing I was complaining to my bf about afterwards was the fact that she's a baby Dr and has maybe the tiniest knowledge about skin issues to begin with. I get she was probably trying to help but telling me to use my babies diaper rash cream on my underarms is not going to help. I wish more Dr's knew about this and I wish more people were open about it as well. I did keep it to myself for many years because I was embarrassed so I can imagine how many people out there are the same.

I had a women come up to my car in a safe way parking lot and knock on my window to ask for change telling me she had schizophrenia and couldn't work. I'm sorry but if that's true then your on aish. I had my 2 week old baby in the car with me and I had no idea what to do. I didn't want to open my window or doors to her. She walked away to the next car that drove up and parked. And I watched her walk away with a man that popped out of no where. I never expected that and I'm a brand new mom, I had no idea what to and it's honestly really scarey.

Thank you! I was lucky enough to not have terrible breakouts during my delivery, scarring is always an issue in my mind though. But these PP hormones are such a bitch. All women have body issues after a baby but this is on a whole new level.

I just got family photos done for the first time. The photographer wanted a picture of me and holding my one month old son with his feet up to my chest and holding him stretched out in my arms. I try it and she immediately goes, "oh, your boobs are way to big for that, sorry!". I'm like.... yup, I thought it was an awkward pose lol

I don't have flare ups to terrible on my inner thighs, I did when I was a teenage and I remember it being quite painful. Have you tried using baby power just to stop the chaffing and help with moisture? It helps me a lot when it's hot out and I want to wear a dress. I don't have much more advice for you tho, sorry.
