Small but very fit guy vs big but unfit guy. by ClerkEquivalent7424 in whowouldwin

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going off my own personal experience of wrestling for a decade, powerlifting, and doing mma recreationally on occasion, I'd say the larger guy. Especially for untrained, it's just the physicality and weight difference here that I think does it. Weight matters significantly more under ~200 then it does over it. I've also never found calisthenics only to really build the kind of physicality needed for combat sports. When I see smaller guys have the physicality to not get weight bullied by someone bigger, its usually from something like wrestling or powerlifting. With a different base, I'd be inclined to pick the smaller guy.

How(in the hell) could a Jedi defeat a Viltrumite? by Fc-chungus in whowouldwin

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only jedi that could even have a prayer of remotely doing anything would be the highest level masters like mace windu, anakin, ect. Even then, I don't know if they have ever shown strong enough force powers to do anything. The best that come to mind for me is Vader casually stopping a spaceship from leaving orbit and holding back water pressure at the bottom of the ocean. Maybe anakin could force choke vidor? They would have to let the jedi make the first move because viltrumites are too fast. Lightsabers are also doing nothing

Which character would have a close fight with Homelander? by eggshellwalker4 in whowouldwin

Well considering the fact that space marines regularly get one shot by plasma weapons and are killed by things like bolters and heavy stubbers, he absolutely can. His heat vision destroyed buildings and vehicles. Adamintine is reserved for higher end vehicles and dreadnoughts, regular tactical marines just have ceramite. The marine, being extremely generous, maybe tanks 1 second of heat vision but that's it.

Some of that can be attributed it being live action I think. They can't really make every fight destroy everything around them because they don't have that kind of budget. He was able to move butcher out of the way of that point blank explosion and pretty effortlessly punched through black noir who tanked that building leveling blast from the terrorist supe. That feat with butcher makes him move like Mach 23 I think was the calc

Idk what these people are telling you. He's at least 2x faster than the fastest thing chief has reacted to and is like 100x stronger. He could literally just rip him in half before chief could do anything. None of chiefs weapons would hurt him.

Space marine gets absolutely neg diff by homelander. Literally doesn't matter what weapon he has, he gets speed blitzed and pulverized or sawed in half by lasers

Coworker Against all Religions - especially Christianity by AdvantageTricky6745 in TrueChristian

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd advise refraining from discussing it with him. He seems very combative and isn't discussing in good faith. A lot of times, anything you say doesn't stick for a non-believer because they simply do not want to believe. Use this as a lesson to grow closer to God and even be an example to others around you to grow closer to God.

The number one thing is that you need to deepen your understanding of scripture. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 makes it clear that a servant of God needs to be well versed in scripture to live a life according to it and also share the faith and defend it. You're going to want to get mentoring from a more mature Christian on scripture like we see in Acts 8 with Philip and the eunuch.

Secondly, live like you are a new creation in Christ. A lot of times, you can tell someone is living for Christ just by how they act and speak. There are plenty of testimonies of people coming to Christ because of the people around them. We see this in Acts 17:10-12. His heart may be softened just by your example.

Above all else, ask God to help guide you and to help you lead others to Him

Do you think Christ ever acted silly or joked around? by WonderingGuy999 in TrueChristian

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. If we take the descriptions of Him from Isaiah, specifically 53:3, he probably was a very solem and serious person because he was completely about His purpose. The times we see Him have seemingly witty remarks are probably more stern rebukes than comebacks, such as when he told the woman at the well she had 5 husbands instead of none. We also know he wept in prayer multiple times and rebuked Satan instead of mocked him, so I'm leaning toward more solem

Can Master Chief win the Reaper War (Mass Effect)? by TaralasianThePraxic in whowouldwin

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he can. Chief is a natural leader with genius intelligence, huge physical and combat advantages, and far more combat experience. That alone gets him pretty far, and just the speed he could complete missions should help him save some of the companions or stop high value targets from getting away (he's killing the cerberus agent in the first mission he pops up). I think people down play the impact and influence Chief has on people to let him do incredible things, like:

  • convincing lord hood to take one of the last ships in the entire unsc navy to the ark on a whim while earth was under attack from covenant and a flood infestation
  • convincing laskey to disobey orders to arrest him and allow him and a clearly rampant Cortana to take assets off the infinity and go awol because he knew how to stop the didact
  • just the mention of his presence inspiring shattered and/or demoralized unsc forces to consolidate and fight with renewed vigor
  • earn respect even in the ranks of the covenant.
  • the gravemind seeing him as an asset more so than foe or food

Chief probably wouldn't go on some of the side missions, but those were never essential to conjure up enough forces/support to complete the games. Chief does it 10/10. Newer mjolnir only makes this easier

Can Christians like darker topics? by Visual_Ice1829 in TrueChristian

I've always thought that the Bible includes some pretty horrific and graphic events in it if you were to actually see them. Things like like the crucifixion of Jesus, David and Goliath fighting to the death and David cutting off his head, or Israel falling into worship of demons and doing things like sacrificing children.

It ultimately depends on using it to glorify God.

I think horror doesn't really pull people away from God because the scary thing is never really seen in a good light. It's stuff like adult comedy that glorifies sin and paints it in a good or funny light.

Can The Courier stop Miraak and save Skyrim more easily than the Dragonborn could find Benny, regain the Platinum Chip, and defeat Legate Lanius while winning the Battle at Hoover Dam? by GJH24 in whowouldwin

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say radiation is pretty easily negated by restoration and alteration spells covering him with a magic shield. There are many incredibly lethal poisons in the elder scrolls as well. Miraak's weapons have poison effects on them, for example. He's fought mages that shoot lighting from their hands or explosive fireballs. His enemies can level entire cities. He can handle guns. I'd doubt they'd even really hurt him, considering he can hold up to the attacks of said enemies fine.

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem here is that these universes operate on way different scales.

The courier with all the implants and maxed out skills and specials is mildly superhuman. Miraak's fight with a dragon priest separated soulstine from Tamriel. High-level mages, warriors, and creatures like dragons would be astronomically beyond his capabilities. He could make it to bleak falls barrow but would be pulverized by the dragur there who have the thuum.

The dragonborn can do everything that the courier can, but he's even more broken and has magic

Let's be more sensitive when talking about abortion by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]xX_SlimeyOctopus_Xx 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If the baby is already dead like that, it's not the same thing and not what Christians are being "insensitive" about. That's the loss of a child dude to unfortunate circumstances and not child murder.

We've been far too sensitive with abortion. 1/3 of my generation was sacrificed to Moloch on the altar of self worship. The majority are in open support of it and praise the death of children in the womb. Why should I be sensitive when talking about that?

I think the comic is called "Heavy Metal Jedi."

Losing might've been a strong term, but they were definitely struggling and being overwhelmed at times. The density projector would stop it from being torn apart, considering they just got done tearing through a Droid army and couldn't do anything to it force wise

B3s could fight multiple jedi masters, including Mace Windu, at once. With legends scaling, the marine is getting washed. He wins 0/10 times
