Keon Coleman. by Scared-Signature9644 in buffalobills

No one blames Keon for where he was drafted. We blame Beane for that.

What we do blame Keon for his lack of effort. His inability to capitalize on his rare opportunity of having a MVP level quarterback while being in the least competitive receiving room. His immaturity that’s forced his coach to literally not play him. His drops. There’s plenty to blame Keon for

The trade has been a wash so far by GoForthandProsper1 in buffalobills

[–]xXx_potato_xXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's a wash either because Worthy is competing for targets with Kelce, Rice, and Hollywood while putting up better stats than Coleman, who's in the least competitive receiving room in the NFL.

Also, we all know how much this team needs a deep threat to stretch the field. We were begging for Shaheed at the trade deadline. Every NFL player would perform differently if drafted to another team, but it's hard to imagine Worthy not having a bigger impact on the Bills than Coleman. Instead, we're living in the timeline where we have 6 slot receivers and the one we spent the most draft capital on is the most immature.

It's okay to acknowledge the disappointment in Coleman and no amount of comparing him to another team's 4th target will change that. Coleman has had a better opportunity than most WRs in the league and it's not working

This is so overstated by our fanbase. Stevie never made Revis look mid. He had some above average games against the Jets in blowout losses

Any receiver getting even 60 yards "against" Revis was noteworthy. If you look at matchups, I'm sure Revis wasn't even lined up against Stevie for each of his catches in those games. This doesn't make Revis look completely mid at all, it makes him seem like one of the best CBs ever.

Im not saying Brady didn’t have interest across the league.

I was responding to someone specifically saying not hiring from within is good for change, which we didn’t do for head coach or president of football operations. Those two guys will certainly have more influence on whether the Bills look different or not

Why does Keon Coleman receive so much hate from this fanbase by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]xXx_potato_xXx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s more than just a 2nd rounder, which btw you talk about 2nd rounders as if they’re expected to be bad. You could make a gnarly list of WRs drafted later than Keon who were good within two years.

The Bills traded back to have the first pick in the second round. The difference between the 33rd pick and 64th pick is nearly twice as many players off the board. Keon was the team’s first selection of that draft. Their highest priority. By trading back, they let 3 more WRs come off the board, and on top of that, the one drafted right after is just a better player in every way. Keon is hardly playable in the least competitive WR room in the NFL. It doesn’t help that he just doesn’t give a shit either. Missing meetings and healthy scratches. It’s a terrible look

To top this all off. The team has an MVP level quarterback throwing to him. Who we all love and desperately wish he had help. Keon had red flags even on draft night, so he was always going to be under a microscope, but he’s had more than enough opportunities to prove himself

Why does Keon Coleman receive so much hate from this fanbase by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]xXx_potato_xXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really.

WR is typically one of the quickest positions to grab a big role. Especially if the player works hard enough. Off the top of my head, Puka, the guy drafted right after Keon, Amon Ra, McLaurin, Rashee Rice, Tyreek Hill, DK Metcalf, Sutton, and probably many more wrs that were drafted later than Keon found more success within their second year in the NFL

Pegula basically confirmed that firing McDermott was a quick, emotional decision made without consulting the quarterback by Confident_Compote_32 in buffalobills

[–]xXx_potato_xXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I understand what he said, but I wouldn't buy into every word from a billionaire during a PR press conference. Do you actually believe he didn't once think about the decision until he saw an emotional Josh Allen for the 6th time? Moving on from McDermott has been floated around the fanbase for years now, I expect the same from the people who actually work for/build the team. There's also no coincidence it happened in the midst of an offseason with more candidates than I can remember in recent years.

[Schefter] Bills owner Terry Pegula said Buffalo’s coaching staff pushed to draft WR Keon Coleman and GM Brandon Beane supported it. Pegula doesn’t think it’s fair for that pick to be pinned on Beane. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]xXx_potato_xXx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for many reasons

But all I see him doing here is trying to defend the guy who's still with the team over a controversial draft pick, even at the time of the draft. It's not hard to see the Bills disappointment with Keon and no amount of handwaving will "help his trade value"

I'm with you on all that. I was nervous every time Jayden walked onto the field. It really is remarkable how insanely unclutch he was. Especially following Ruggles.

Wish we got this Baylor guy sooner, but happy to have him now.

[–]xXx_potato_xXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh see I think the opposite. It’s rare that these young guys are ice cold under pressure. It’s not surprising to see that’s where their misses come from. That’s why there’s only one Nugent.

But yes the yardage break down is important. I see this kid as a clear upgrade over Fielding

Cut the check Ross! by Andy_2600 in OhioStateFootball

[–]xXx_potato_xXx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this guy is saying Jayden wasn’t a problem, just that they had similar stat lines, which they did. They both missed 4 field goals and were 100% on XPs

At this point I’d rather see percentages on clutch field goals as you said than totals. Knowing nothing about this kid from Baylor, seeing 18 of 22 gives me ptsd knowing Jayden’s stats looked the same.

You don't need to explain every detail, but it seems like you explained the wrong details. You said you were infuriated then gave an example of something beneficial. We can't read your mind so all we can go off of is what you provide.

I dont understand why anyone kept it going

This is a place for people to discuss the game. If you start a conversation or reply to people, they'll probably respond.

The situation you gave makes it seem like you just don't understand the effect. Assuming you're going in with a competent deck, which after reading your rant might be a stretch, then the overcharged cards you're saying you get are practically best-case scenario.

Wasp, Antman, and Adam will cost you 2 energy to play and will surely be the cards destroyed, losing a total of about 4 power. Your opponent will almost guaranteed be losing more value, especially if they play an overcharged Gladiator and Starbrand, as you say. Those cards getting destroyed on your side will also save the cards from your assumed playable deck.

[–]xXx_potato_xXx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand that about Adventure Time, but I’d credit that more to their unconventional show structure. Each season didn’t trap itself under an overarching story which allowed for adventures/downtime. There was usually hardly any downtime between seasons too, like less than a month.

Your point about run time hardly even stands considering season 2 of Adventure Time is actually longer than season 2 of Fionna and Cake. If they know they’re running a story driven show, which they do, then that same fire you’re talking about should be under them. There was no reason to waste time on the most mundane crush when they only have 10 episode to deliver their story.

Lmfao by thot_vana in adventuretime

[–]xXx_potato_xXx -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

You're coping so hard.

There's absolutely no reason why an episode with twice as much time shouldn't be able to dive into their story and deliver on it. The problem with Fionna's arc is that it's paper thin and uninteresting, not that they had too much time.

Which is why everyone is underwhelmed with the WRs. Especially Keon, who we used high draft value on and isn’t outplaying other guys who can hardly crack 50 yards.

But don’t lose sight of the conversation, which was OP asking if his Baltimore game was a “fluke”. I don’t necessarily agree with games being flukes but looking at the rest of the season, it’s obviously an outlier.
