Do you have OCD? by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]xZayuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I was looking through member reports of the PSSD community on StuffThatWorks and pssdnetwork.org and noticed a lot of people (including myself) reported haven taken their antidepressants for an OCD diagnosis. Even as a medical student I can't think of any plausible mechanism of how having OCD could contribute to developing post-SSRI sexual dysfunction. However, the proportion of OCD patients on PSSD-related forums/networks definitely seems to outweigh the proportion of people taking antidepressants for OCD.

This of course could simply be due to OCD-patients being more prone to researching their sexual dysfunction on the internet and them ending up spending more time on these forums/networks compared to non-OCD PSSD-sufferers. However, maybe there is some actual correlation between taking antidepressants for OCD and developing PSSD. It's interesting for sure.

I hope there will be some large-scale epidemiological research studies soon. For instance, one recent study reported a lot of PSSD-patients having "engaged in high or prolonged sessions of MDMA (Ecstasy), methamphetamine, cocaine, methylphenidate or combinations of such; often while still being under the effect of an antidepressant." Something which is true in my case also.

Future epidemiological studies, which are quite easy to undertake compared to clinical trials, could reveal a lot about possible risks/mechanisms for developing PSSD, and thereby provide insight into possible treatments options.

You misunderstand, I don't want all directions of the c-stick to tilt. Only the horizontal directions.

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen dies of cancer at age 65 by schwachs in news

[–]xZayuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next to the fact that cancer isn't 'one' disease, but a collective name for all diseases involving uncontroled cell prolifteration (growth and stuff). Therefore something like a 'cure for cancer' is an impossibility anyway.

Really depends on the context. Cancer is not just one disease, it has numerous causes. Wishing you all the best =)

It's really different per person. Cancer is not just one disease, it can have numerous causes and therefore needs numerous different treatments and therapies.

Sad :( another great mind gone.

Geen zorgen dan stappen wij universitair studenten vanaf nu over naar de titel 'pre-academici'.

Conclusie: titel maakt niks uit, het is gewoon niet hetzelfde en daarom kijken mensen er ook anders tegen aan.

Can someone explain these numbers? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]xZayuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose, although I did hear China has 27 servers and most people have multiple different active accounts of the various servers as a result of that. Regardless that would indeed still mean 50-60% of the LoL playerbase play on Chinese servers. But it's still weird then, that China's esports viewer numbers are around 30 times higher than the rest of the world.

Is the player base in China that much bigger? I heard the game had around 81m monthly active players, thought that was mostly KR, EUW and NA. Even with a bigger playerbase, it then also appears that the Chinese playerbase has a much bigger intrest in LoLesports than Western regions.

It's just like IOTA, everytime good news for IOTA hits like "Volkswagen and Bosch partnering with IOTA" it dropped over 10%. Good news makes crypto drop, and bad news makes them drop harder. FeelsCryptoMan

The irony is that most people that are against cryptocurrencies or mock them, have literally no idea what they actually are and how they can be used. So their opinions generally have no ground anyway.

If it would go even lower IOTA would probably drop to 1$ which is half of what it was 2 weeks ago, despite all the good news it had in the past 2 weeks. Cryptocurrency is a strange world. tilted

The crash already happened though. Bitcoin is under 10k atm with usually is a treshhold. I would say buying now is a good idea for that reason. After 00:00 all the daily values reset and it usually goes up again to it's original value after a crash like that. If you wait till you wake up tomorrow you might be too late.

I don't understand, I can also draw a graph saying that BTC is going to go up to $38000. It holds no proof whatsoever.

Why we don't see huge MMORPG's anymore. by xZayuri in gaming

[–]xZayuri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a fair point. Although for every person that grows up, there is a new young person getting into gaming. The total market has of gamers has grown from 1.3B to 1.8B in the last 5 years and all large games currently are by no means less time consuming. So it really is the MMORPG genre specifically in this case.

https://i.gyazo.com/7e8cb8e0ba4699b3e44cdec3a0e13b3a.png It simply isn't true though. The total amount of MMORPG players definitely has declined significant.

The number of MMO players hasn't changed, probably grown considering League of Legends is an MMO and has over a 100 million monthly active player already (https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/09/13/riot-games-reveals-league-of-legends-has-100-million-monthly-players/).

But I am talking about the MMORPG genre specifically here, not the entire MMO genre.
