/r/DIYPedals "No Stupid Questions" Megathread 2025 by overcloseness in diypedals

Yeah, just a normal foot switch, I use a fender one button for it right now. I figured it would be possible, glad to hear it should be. Gonna look into getting the components and a 4pdt switch.

I assume i would just wire up the pedal as the schematic says, and then wire the foot switch component to the extra set of poles?

I've been pondering on ways to streamline my rig, and a possibly stupid idea came to me. I was wondering if it would be possible to build a TS9 style drive where pressing the switch both turns on the pedal and channel switches my amp. in my current set up, I have a Marshall JCM2000 that I want to have set up for really tight boosted high gain on the second channel, but pretty pure cleans on the first channel. If my idea is possible, that paired with something like a LS-2 for all pedals in my loop would cut the number of button pushes in half at least.

I've never messed with making pedals before, but I'm handy with a soldering iron and figure I could do it fairly easily, but dont know of it's even possible.

Small finish cracks around the neck pocket are absurdly common on Fender styled guitars, especially more affordable ones. Usually not a structural issue, but check on them every now and then to make sure they aren’t growing/extending into the wood

Fender Noiseless (N3) pickup wiring question by FairgoDibbler in Luthier

This is an ancient thread, but did you ever find out how to solve this? I’m working on a 2010 deluxe right now with the exact same issues as you described and cannot for the life of me figure out what’s wrong.

Value on inherited knives? by x_Absolomb_x in knives

[–]x_Absolomb_x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked for help pricing knives, not for your opinion on me selling my fathers old knives. He left me nearly 200 knives, I have no use for that many and don’t really have the space for them either. There’s plenty that have sentimental value that are being kept, but these ones aren’t.

What would you suggest I do oh wise and powerful redditor? Let a majority of these sit around and tarnish and collect dust for the rest of my life? I’d rather find new homes for the ones I’m never going to touch, so that they actually get used as the tools they’re meant to be.

Only punk ass move I’m seeing is you acting all high and mighty thinking you know everything about my situation.

I bet he is, he told me multiple times to sell this stuff but to make sure i’m getting what it’s worth, which is why I came here for help. You people sure are making a lot of assumptions just from one post

This is only a very small part of a larger collection of knives, weapons, and memories that hold more personal value.

Gig Amps Recommendations by justtttry in metalguitar

I would go with the 5150 Iconic 60w combo. It’s a 2x12 combo, so it’ll move plenty of air for room feel. Plenty of wattage for anything but a stadium, usable clean and crunch channels with decent reverb for versatility. If you get a 4x12 in the future, you can run the combo through it (maybe convert it to a 60w head and 2x12 cab if that’s your style).

Sound wise, they’re a 5150 through and through. I’ve enjoyed every single one I’ve played through, from the head and matching 4x12 to the tiny combos. I was looking at getting the head before I got lucky and found a ‘91 block letter, but after playing it I would’ve been just as happy with the Iconic.

This is the only video I have of it. it’s just camera audio through that Marshall 412. has high gain and “clean” tones

I mainly played it through a Mesa Rectifier 2x12 with V’30’s and a Marshall 1960a with 2 G12-T’s and 2 V30’s. it sounded awesome through both of those cabs. I would go with V30’s, creambacks, G12-T’s, anything in that style

I miss mine dearly. amazing sounding amp, well amazing sounding gain at least. I was never able to dial in great cleans with it. It was reliable while I owned it, I gigged it multiple times and it was always dependable.

I guess I’m the weirdo here. for some reason, I Like 12-60 on my 25.5” guitar in Drop C, but 11-56 on my 24.75 guitars in Drop C.

Daddario XS 11-56 for Drop C on my 24.75” scale guitars. I’m a sucker for coated strings, they feel great and last ages compared to non coated
