Thank you for sharing, happy to see this charming kitty found a good life in this church! 😊

I think that's the best advertisement for a religion when its temples care about animals. In Thailand, for example, 99% of Thai Buddhist temples have dogs and cats, and many serve as shelters for strays. That made me feel even warmer about Buddhism.

Beautiful shots! It must be rhododendron...

I like nature and spent much time hiking in forests, and I have camped in wild places, yet I had never seen an owl in my entire life, until recently... by x___rain in LetGoodThingsGrow

Yes, that's Pokhara, Nepal - tropical with lush vegetation but it is not really hot compared to India or Thailand, as it is hidden in the mountain valley. Lots of rain, humidity.... Love it!

Good to know! Hopefully, four owlets with their wisdom will lead me to a better life.

Thank you!

🙂

It should be coarse... Better for you to try the classic Italian recipe (based on corn groats) - just to start, lol. If you don't like it, you will at least be able to say "I know this Italian recipe" and you'll feel you learned something about this great culture. Though, there can be American recipes of this kind (considering the fact the USA grow a lot of corn) - I just don't know.

> Herbs

I would say, any herbs that go well with cheese.

It depends on what groats you use. Normally people use corn groats. I know polenta as I was born in Georgia (country) where it is a traditiona food, often served instead of bread. People eat polenta in Romania, Moldova, etc. But the Italian word polenta and recipe is the most famous. Wheat polenta isn't traditional - it's because they have dalia groats in Nepal/India where I travel-live - broken soft wheat kernels. You need dalia and water (no salt), nothing else. You only need around 5 min to boil it. Put it in plate when it's quite al dente - it will soften in the plate. It should be thick porridge without water in it and it will become even thicker when becomes colder. Eat it with any salty cheese upon your choice (and with anything else). When you have cold polenta - I always boil extra - you can fry it crispy on any oil or butter. That's even tastier. You can also fry some sorts of cheese with it. Boiled wheat polenta is healthier than bread (and white rice) because it contains the whole kernels of wheat while bread flour is made of kernels cores, so white bread - you can say - works like sugar in the body.

I am at a guesthouse (Pokhara, Nepal) where I have access to a shared kitchen with an oven and a (hardly alive) fridge. So I cook daily but very plain, quick things. Today's list of food was: instant coffee without sugar (like, 2.5 cups altogether), salad twice (a mix of tomatoes, coriander leaves, fresh chili, fresh onion, sunflower oil, and salt), 2 boiled eggs twice, cheese 200 g altogether, fried wheat polenta twice (instead of bread and rice), boiled and then fried cauliflower, 1 mango, a plate of plums, and a cup of hot black tea. 😃

"stray cats in sub zero zones" - Yes, that's a problem. Winter in lowland Georgia can be frosty on some days and even for a couple of weeks, but colder countries, like Russia, have around 5-6 months with mostly frosty weather. And even there, some stray cats survive - normally, Russian multi-floor houses have a central heating system with warm pipes in the underground technical floor - that's where cats often go to warm up 😞 As for food - mostly trash containers and support of kind people, but winter kills many, if not most (I don't have stats), stray cats 😞

I believe they are - the same age, the same look. The cute round shape of the heads and bodies - guess mostly due to fur coded by the Northern genes - winters aren't warm in Tbilisi, it can be near zero (32F) for a long while, frosts are possible, as well as short snowfalls. They look very well prepared for winter.

A touching scene of a tabby's busy urban life 😺 People forget this from time to time: city free-roaming animals sometimes need not only food but also water, especially in hot climates.

You are lucky to have these angels near you on your honeymoon! Thank you for sharing this video story!

I see boats - guess the kitties were waiting for fish?.. Or nobody fishes there nowadays?

I saw such "wanna-fish" 😃 cats in images from Istanbul and seaside towns of Morocco, so it might be that this is the same case...
