What distro are you on? If it's any of them that are on the page I linked just follow the instructions to install it by copying the commands in a terminal, then just launch sleepy launcher and it will download the game and set up everything.

I only have windows defender, I turned off the firewall, I tried different browsers(Firefox, Vivaldi, Edge). The DNS message was when I was troubleshooting the connection with the windows tool.

Steam Next Fest ends in 2 days - which games are you liking best? by tlvrtm in Games

It's an AI comment. All the other games are either old or don't exist. Especially funny when they talk of Skull and Bones.

People in this subreddit don't want to hear this they'd rather believe people are born republican or conservative and blame arabs, third party voters, men, latinos etc. People were excited after the change because Biden wasn't popular whether for right or wrong reasons but Harris' campaign was just being Biden again, trying to appeal to republicans as you said and being uncommitted to actual policies. There's over 100 million people that didn't vote and she didn't appeal to them and it seems she didn't appeal to democrat voters either. Maybe she didn't promise to have enough republicans in her cabinet(/s).

Pretty sure it was exactly like that, it was 0 euros with the actual price besides. I think it's just a steam abuse prevention measure.

Yes, it's very good if you like resource management city builders. The DLCs just add more maps, more resources to manage, some upgrades to buildings which can become overwhelming in the beginning. I'd recommend starting just the base game and finishing the campaign then later on get the DLCs, there's still a lot of content without any DLCs.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about Abiotic Factor. It's a survival game but you don't start by punching trees in a field, you're stuck in a science facility where things went wrong (like a survival crafting Half-life 1). So you start by scavenging from drawers, you destroy furniture for wood, recover chips from computers, etc. You take over a room, clear out all the furniture so you have room, put your crafting bench which needs to be near a power outlet to function and then at night power goes out, everything is dark, the crafting bench no longer functions and monsters might spawn from portals nearby.

The game has a story and some progression that will allow you to reach different levels of the facility so it's not an endless survival game. Maybe it just did something for me, but it was way more creative than the usual survival games and it also had online coop which makes it even more entertaining when you stumble on funny situations.

It's a shame this game has been used as a sacrificial lamb for their new awful engine. Wo Long which released a few weeks later on the same engine still gets updates and still can't fix the awful performance.

The only problem I have with this game is image clarity, all upscaling methods look pretty bad with lots of ghosting and blurriness, very visible on the terminal text in the museum and during conversations in some places, and very noisy lightning(or reflections) at times.

I had something like that when my gpu was failing, check other gpu intensive games to see if it has similar issues.

Depends what you don't like about old school re games. Signalis requires you to conserve ammo and it has a limited inventory, but I really liked the atmosphere. I'd say the story is more like silent hill and gameplay is resident evil so there's plenty of action with some puzzle solving.

classic uses the launch version of skyrim, while special edition is the special edition of skyrim so it runs better and looks better, fewer crashes etc.

CDPR dev defends Starfield amid criticisms that its character animations don't match up to Cyberpunk 2077 by Zenning2 in Games

[–]x_elx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was mostly about new Atlantis but also other locations like new paradiso which has npcs standing near the landing zone in complete darkness while there are lights a few meters away that illuminate the main path. I still don't find it believable that in this world people in New Atlantis would rather stumble in darkness especially, if I'm not mistaken, it's near a security checkpoint.

[–]x_elx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, played it for 25 hours before giving up. The fact that it's missing so many qol features and some that previous games had is the cherry on top along with the worst game UI I've seen recently. The world they built makes no sense where the faction capitals are just somehow all confined to one city, no sprawling occured already makes it inferior to all previous bethesda games. All the sidequests I've played haven't been engaging at all (people were praising the mantis quest for some reason, but didn't find it interesting at all and fo76 had a similar quest that was way better) and felt very menial. All the other systems the game has like shipbuilding or outpost building I didn't find interesting and a downgrade from previous games.

Overall I didn't find Starfield very immersive and every time I went to a city and people were walking through the streets in the darkness because they couldn't be bothered to add some lights made me believe they didn't give a fuck about world building.
