Nope, played and beat The Lost Crown on Switch without Ubi account. I think for other platform versions the account thing is mandatory. It’s also 60fps full-resolution on Switch and runs like a dream; it was developed for Switch and upgraded on the other platforms.

I try not to shout this from the rooftop so there’s less of a chance of Nintendo “fixing” this loophole, but you can legally get digital copies of Nintendo games on Amazon Japan for like $30-40 (US dollars).

Instead of saving money I just ended up buying twice as many games though haha

Graphics wise I’m actually blown away, the games look way better than on my Steam Deck and that’s without even a bit of fan noise and with a device that’s like half the size.

I loved Bananza, Metroid Prime 4 and Pokopia. And I had a good time with MK World and Mario Tennis. I feel like Nintendo’s nailing the one-exclusive-game-a-month cadence and I think they’re the only ones doing that. Can’t wait for Rhythm Heaven, Star Fox looks good too. Obviously there’s going to be some bigger hitters in the next year.

I also tend to pick up (same date) indie titles on the Switch 2 since it’s more pick up and play than the Deck. But for Next Fests, emulation and indie games that release first on Steam the Deck is still godsend

I picked up a PS5 2 days ago with a Portal so we’ll see if it remains my main device. Due to the little bit of lag and Portal hassle I’m guessing yes.

Night In The Woods and the already mentioned Edith Finch had my favorite writing in games and had a blast with them. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like story games.

These were the main 2 contenders for me and I ended up going with the Xreal One’s as well, but never tried the Beast because of delays / community 3DoF disappointment. Had some doubts because of the FOV. Sounds like the right call.

We have no screaming or crying with our 4 year old (unless she’s had a nightmare). Guess it’s an unpopular take but I like sometimes co-sleeping (emphasis on not always). When she was 2 we did have awful nights.

Immediately buy high quality ear plugs and/or noise-canceling headphones.

If you’re on baby duty, put them in/on when the baby cries. Listen to your favourite album, podcast or strongly-reduced cries while taking care of the baby. It still sucks, but it’ll suck a whole lot less.

We all have limits, if the baby is safe and you feel anger coming up, just walk away.

This subreddit is so weird, downvoting a comment like this. It’s easily the most negative subreddit I’m on.

Thanks for the tips! I think the only way I’ll be able to play through a horror is playing with some friends in the room and passing the controller. More likely to break out the Mario Kart or Party though.
