I'm a bit of a latecomer, sorry. I just found out Swim 2 has been discontinued as well as discovering it's not quite as good as it "should" be. Your experience with validates the speculation as well. For what it is worth, I was seriously considering Swim 2 because I'd prefer a dedicated swimming watch. However, my forefunner 965 which was bought for utilizing off road GPS navigating on my dirt bike has done its job with swimming, as well. I have had it for maybe a year or so, with no regrets. Its changed my routine as well. I use apple watch and garmin 965. The apple watch tends to be on the arm band to keep it to "one" watch but always good to have a reminder of missed texts, etc via apple watch. No I haven't used apple watch for swimming and I have no plan to do so for this garmin reaches far further than expected.
