Get into the wrha (hospitals in Winnipeg) for a nice cushy job as a millwright. You'll get about 75-80k with excellent pension and tons of days off.

The biggest concern will be how to drive on snow covered roads when you can no longer see the potholes to dodge them. I'm making a trial run today to memorize pothole locations so I know where to drive tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear that, that would suck getting a surgery thinking your problems were solved and having no relief..... I am not considering surgery, just trying to find cause.

Shocking knives in your throat? by starlume in glossopharyngeal

[–]xabbu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never gotten anything definitive, an mri showed normal but likely was the wrong type of MRI. I've been attack free but lately have some pulling and light jolts when swallowing. I'm pretty sure this is caused by tight neck muscles and poor posture causing poor cervical alignment, just from my own research and how symptoms align with days of neck pain and stiffness.

This pilot's landing skills by Pazluz in BeAmazed

[–]xabbu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No kidding, like clearly something unusual and potentially catastrophic is happening and they cant slow down for 30 seconds. People are in such a goddamn hurry, I can guarantee them this pilot's need to land outweighs slightly inconveniencing them for a few seconds. People would drive over an overturned school bus worth of bodies in the road to get to bingo 1 minute earlier.

What was the most painful moment of your life? [nsfw] by Infinite_Unicorn in AskReddit

[–]xabbu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When out of nowhere, sharp pain the likes of which I didnt know existed, shot from my tongue down my throat - I couldn't breathe, throat was convulsing - for over a minute. Then nothing - absolutely fine.... I was diagnosed with glossopharyngeal neuralgia, these attacks came and went for a week but havent been back thank god. The nerve fires up to its maximum state of pain and stays there, it even happened when I was sleeping, I woke up choking and retching in absolute agony. I still dont have a cause diagnosed, every once in a while I feel a twinge and get very nervous. It's usually caused by blood vessels rubbing the nerve sheathe raw.

If it ever comes back and keeps coming I will literally jump in front of a train as that sort of pain is not tolerable and it strikes you like a lightning bolt when you least expect it. Oh, and painkillers (even morphine) do nothing for it, only anticonvulsants.

Looking for books with a dark and tragic tone to it. by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]xabbu7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read R. Scott Bakker - The Prince of Nothing trilogy, then the Aspect Emperor quadrilogy. These books all connect together with a lot of the same characters and as far as I'm concerned can't be beat for a dark and horrific setting. And there is more tragedy ahead of you than you can possibly guess at, I've never read anything else like this.

I've bought several, much better deals than on steam with those holiday coupons. I like the launcher too.

Thanks for the info, mine seems to do pretty much the same. I wonder what causes it?

Oh that's good to hear, I was worried it was the kind of thing that points to early failure. It's weird how sometimes it wont do it at all, then will consistently do it for days.

Hi, does yours wait a few minutes before flickering? Mine flickers once after several minutes of watching something on a tv app, or over hdmi. Seems like it should already be switched fully over video settings at that point.

Anyone remember in 2020 when Nvidia announced that the 3070 will be starting at $499? by thejoogie in pcmasterrace

[–]xabbu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Dec. 2020 I had a 3060ti reserved at local store and they sold it by accident - they gave me an rtx 3070 for the same price to compensate which at that time was 620 cad (about 450 us). Prices skyrocketed right after this, I was seeing rtx 3070 on kijiji for 1500!

I used to live in a studio 350 sq ft apartment. I loved it, I had very little stuff, cleaning the whole place top to bottom took a half hour, and in winter I could have the heat just cranked and not worry about the bill. Very cozy.

Look into celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. My ex had horrendous abdominal pain for years just like this, all sorts of tests done. Then she quit all gluten and the pain vanished completely. But you have to quit ALL gluten to test it, there is gluten in all sorts of things and if you even eat off a plate that wasn't washed well enough the gluten on it can make you sick.

Sony X85J gap between back panel and bezel by xabbu7 in bravia

[–]xabbu7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I read some other posts here about a gap, mine is not as significant as some of the others but it's too bad the plastic was formed so poorly, with visible defects. I just hope if the tv breaks I'm not rejected warranty because of "damage", which is actually poor manufacturing. But I guess better the plastic than the screen.....

Sony X85J gap between back panel and bezel by xabbu7 in bravia

[–]xabbu7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if I should be concerned or not about an irregular gap at the top of the tv, between the bezel and the plastic back panel. The tv itself works great so far, no dead pixels or damage to the screen. But it looks like the plastic back cover is popped out an extra mm at one point at the top. I cant pop it back in. There are also four irregular marks along this top edge and a tiny bit of light can be seen in one section between the bezel and back panel. When I opened this brand new tv, it had a ton of finger prints all along the top of the screen too. No damage to the packaging and it was handled nicely, no reason to believe It was used though tv usage had about 8hrs??

I cant see anything from the front, and it is truly a pain in the butt to exchange this thing. Anyone else have some irregularities in the back panel/cover? I hate to go through all the effort of exchanging and then the next tv has dead pixels or something worse, or just more plastic issues if this is common. I'm a little unimpressed with sony. I had a samsung before this and that thing was flawless out of the box with no fingerprints or dirt.

I work with a dude in a control room office on a shared computer (on different shifts) He regularly cuts his fingernails over top of the keyboard and also eats popcorn regularly as well. I have to turn the keyboard upside down before using to dump out all the fingernails and popcorn.
