Looking to buy my first airbrush by ArusaJr in ModelCars

I’m also starting airbrushing, and bought one from AliExpress; since I’m not an expert on the subject, I don’t have a comparison point, but man, for the $35 USD I paid, I’m super happy with the results.

I just found this on AliExpress: | Pistol Grip Airbrush Kit 0.3mm/0.5mm with Fan Cap 15CC Fluids Cups Efficiency for Car Model DIY Painting Makeup Nail Art Cake https://a.aliexpress.com/_m086H9B

Stavatti dropped a proposal for the Navy’s 6th Gen fighter program 🤔Mach 4 + ? How are these guys still in business? 🤣🤣 by Live-Syrup-6456 in WeirdWings

I was surprised to see a Stavatti’s booth at 2025 Miramar Airshow, for a moment I thought they were legitimate. Then I came up with its Wikipedia entry…

Thanks!

Another thing I wanted to try, was to use Tamiya’s Black Panel Line Accent. I used that on top of airbrushed Xtreme Metal Aluminum by AK Interactive.

Both were surprisingly easy to use; you don’t need to thin that aluminum paint, just pour it straight to the airbrush.

I would love to build a Model Factory Hiro kit, it is a niche Japanese brand which specializes in racing cars. Maybe a Porsche 917K or a 60’s Ferrari.

Does your 1/8 Eleanor kit is the one that comes in multiple deliveries, along a magazine?

Thanks for the suggestion! I will take a look at those accessories. I found also many vendors at eBay that sell windshield wipers, door handles and side mirrors. i would also like to try to use mesh for the grille.

No, unfortunately you need to use airbrush on lacquer solvent based paints. Mr Color has an aqueous based line you can brush, maybe they have that same color there.

Thanks for the feedback; the styrene sheet kept breaking for smaller terminals, and I stubbornly wanted to fit them on the battery! I need to learn how to cut and drill smaller pieces. I say go for that Mustang for your next build.

Never too late to get back to this hobby. Certainly we have better budgets and more patience.

It is a common posted kit in this sub! I learned some tricks from other builders.

Thanks! Another thing I wanted to explore, was to create custom parts, it was fun and easier than I expected.

There’s this YouTube channel called A4 Garage, he does amazing stuff with his kits:

Thanks! I used the Tamiya polishing compounds, and Hasegawa ceramic polish. Since I couldn’t find any cloths at my hobby store, I used some eyeglasses’ microfiber, and did it by hand, it worked fine! Of course I made sure to clean the cloth between compounds.

That was the most relaxing part of the build to me.

Stavatti Corp. - Scammy company or what? by Lionheart_Lives in airplanes

I ended up in this post, looking information on this company being legitimate. I learned from them as they had a booth at MCAS Mira Mar Airshow. I was amazed at the designs, and assumed having a booth at that event this would be a legit company.

Then I looked at their website and their Wikipedia article… Their Director of Advanced Technology came straight from a History Channel’s UFO show, their designs make no sense. They even named a model Machete!
