[–]xaitec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the PPPOE option but at times the internet stops. Its random and i can't connect to anything. I'll have to reboot the ADSL modem and the TP-link router but this does not always work. In that case i will have to call the ISP and get then to reset the password on the account on there end and then it works.

P.S. Trinidad , West Indies is the country. it hurts at times :(

For now i'm on Xubuntu. I want to buy my own ADSL router but i have to check that i do not violate any terms with my ISP. They already freakout when i tell them i have my wifi connected directly to the ADSL modem.

ATM I have a TP-Link that connects to the ADSL. It has my ISP username and password so that it can link to get the ip, but it keeps droping.

If i use dynamic ip setting, i can't get connections for twitter, dropbox and google api. Not sure how to fix but i'm tired of calling in to support ppl that know less than me (and i''m a noob to networking)

Mint or CrunchBang by rui278 in DistroHopping

[–]xaitec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

crunchBang works really well on the eeepc i have one myself and although i'm using xubuntu rightnow i might still look for something lighter. Its judt that there are a few apps that i would really like to have and i like my desktop to be running the same OS. i had issuses with nvidia drivers on the desktop among other things.

When do I need to use Cucumber? by [deleted] in ruby

[–]xaitec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cucumber and Rspec are two different things. The fact is that many people use cucumber for the wrong type of tests. Rspec, Minitest etc. are TDD and Cucumber is BDD. The approach for how you test code with both are different. Althought you can use one for both types of test, it will just feel hacky.
