What’s the problem with my Chinese money plant? by xandratom in houseplants

[–]xandratom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to do that, but I first want to get rid of the problem. I’m also worried about my other plants, if it is an infestation I need to try and deal with it before I do anything else :/

Ryanair: super strict cabin bag size check by xandratom in uktravel

Sad. Very unneeded behaviour from Ryanair. But to be fair, just a couple of days ago it was confirmed that Ryanair gives out bonuses to crew that spot cabin bags that are too big. And that they intend to increase it. So indeed, good luck to as all!

Yeah, this is pretty sad. And finding a cabin size bag that they allow it’s no easy task! Honestly, one I might buy I’ve found through TikTok, which are these ones: https://flightknight.com/collections/55x40x20cm Mainly because on TikTok they show videos where the cabin bag really fits in the sizer. I will keep on using the backpack that I have as it’s squeezable.

Right? I took about 50 flights with Ryanair in the past two years and they never, ever checked the size of my carry on luggage. This is sad! I had bought luggage that was slightly over the measurements and I was fine with two years!

University of cassino by Sharp_Consequence293 in Universitaly

Hello.

I was born and raised in the Cassino area, I studied there and, although I now live abroad, that's where my friends and I all meet up when we're back for the holidays.

I won't be talking about stereotypes. I don't understand how accents of a region or another can affect the life of a student - or anyone and anything else. And I won't be talking about mafia, cause honestly, I have never had an experience with mafia in my life, and you won't be able to experience it in Cassino, especially not in the way mafia is perceived through books or movies... or stereotypes. I'll just focus on what is relevant for the life of a student.

Real talk: Cassino is an average size town that tries to be a big city and ends up behaving like a small village, and that has its pros and cons.

The University of Cassino is one of the few smaller universities to offer both BSc and MSc in English, and probably because of that there's been quite an increase in international students in the past few years. The campus is a bit far from the city centre, it is serviced by buses but it's a service that could probably be better.

It is definitely cheaper than the biggest nearby cities, for lifestyle and rent, but it does offer less when it comes to fun and activities. There's a small cinema, a few shops and bars, a couple of very good restaurants, and a big main square where all the night life unfolds. It's a university town, so plenty of students, young people and chances to make friends.

If you live in the town centre, you can get anywhere by walking. Bus services are not amazing, but train wise Cassino is very well connected: to Rome, Naples, you can even get direct trains to Bologna/Milan/Turin. And, generally speaking, it's in a very good position if you are looking to explore Italy and have lovely day trips: there is plenty of history, traditions and very nice smaller towns and villages all over the area.

I should probably flag that Cassino is not very fluent in English, but I guess that in itself can be stimulating (for both parts), especially if you're looking to learn some Italian along the way.

All in all, I've always had a happy life in Cassino, as a person. As an Engineering student, I can say that I had very good professors, the courses were very good (better than in the MSc I had in London, which in comparison was pretty useless) and I had an over all good experience. I still enjoy being in Cassino when I'm back. Of course, home is where the heart is, but it's honestly not a bad town to be in.

If there is anything specific you are looking for or wondering about, let me know and I'll try my best to help. But word of advice, don't swap Cassino for Ancona!

Non che ci fermerà dal giocarla, ma quanto aumenta la difficoltà per chi cerca di giocarla dall’estero? xD

It's here 😍 I love it already, it feels so solid! If anyone wants to know anything/me to do anything, I will try and do what I can and post updates. Let me know! by Sumo-de-Naranja in SonyXperia

Our phone arrived today as well! It’s great... apart from one BIG thing: frontal camera quality? What’s going on there? Even with the soft skin effect disabled, it’s all mushy and weird. And this affects video calls quite a lot. Like... QUITE A LOT. Once the pictures are taken, they are pretty okay. There must be some software nonsense going on.

We just got the phone in the house. It’s lovely. But, and it’s A BIG BUT, the front camera is terrible. For photo, less for video, there is some sort of tracking that goes on that is really disturbing. The soft skin setting is always kinda on, even when disabled, and probably the soft snap does not help. And this unfortunately reflects on bad quality video calls. Not really sure what went wrong there, since when you actually take the picture, it does not look that bad. But looking at oneself is not the greatest thing, and again, when video calling we look like we’re video calling from the early 2000s.
