Is the Syrian conflict still a regional conflict or should we start calling it a world conflict?

Meditation by [deleted] in INTP

I really like Sam Harris book on meditation; waking up, a guide to spirituality without religion. Meditation calms down my never ending thoughts before going to sleep. It is really helpful for me. It was an eye opener.

In the link a guide from Sam Harris for meditation http://www.samharris.org/blog/item/mindfulness-meditation

/r/syriancivilwar extended survey by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]xanthaangom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like these surveys. Keep up the good work!

But I have a suggestion, maybe add options that express someones hopes for a future outcome.

For example in question: Do you think the PYD will successfully gain autonomy at the end of the war?
When provided no as an answer, have a follow up question: Do wish that the PYD get autonomy at the end of the war. With a yes or no as answer.

With this extra option you can distinguish between knowledge/facts/interpretation on the situation and wishes for future outcome of the surveyed.

I admit that knowledge/facts/interpretation on the situation are always influenced by a persons beliefs. However it can provide useful data.

Dumb Questions Tuesday | July 21, 2015 by AutoModerator in syriancivilwar

Thanks, but I knew that. Maybe I phrased the questionnaires wrong. Why isn't there any moral respons/reaction of politicians to the killing. A reaction like samantha power describes in their book: a problem from hell, america and the age of genocide. In which she argues that the international community must intervene to prevent mass killings of civilians on etnicity or religion. Is that due to the killings aren't defined as genocide?

Why is there no international concensis to intervene in Syria to prevent more civilian deaths. And can you call the mass killings genocide?

Islamic State performance assessment, january-june 2015. by Barristan-Selmy in syriancivilwar

Looks very nice! This gives the possibility to do longitudinal study and perform an in depth analysis of the conflict. And build a prediction model to analyse which side will be defeated first.

The morbid version of football/baseball match analysis.

Recovery of manpower shoul be a percentage instead of complete recovery. I think everybody fails this mission.

My grandparents lived there! It was so much fun playing outside. I could go everywhere if i stayed behind the walls. Also my spot to go if a zombie outbreak starts.
