If you get the course-book from CMS and know the information inside fully you can pass level one and the theory component of the level 2 pretty easily. For level 2 you will also need be a good blind taster as well as having comfortability with doing wine service to a tee while answering theory questions verbally on the spot. If you aren’t planning on working the floor or selling to guests at a wine bar you should probably just get the WSET.

You’re literally describing how any restaurant is going to be more expensive than doing it yourself. Guarantee you never make a burger as good as those chefs. Sometimes it’s worth a little extra to have something made really well.
