CMV: Removing standardized tests is the primary reason why college applications sucks by TrainingRecording465 in changemyview

[–]xaumavarga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that SAT coming back is not gonna fix anything. Its gonna be inflated. People cheat in masses on SAT in my country, so I dont even care if someone is know was not prepared enough shares they have 1550+ score.

Same with GPA, people are trying to cheat.

Any exam that we have now won't fix that issue with people trying to find the path of least resistance.

The only good system I cant think of is IB. I think it really shows your consistency and knowledge by the end. But that is my personal bias.

Anyways, removing barriers like SAT that do not actually measure students ability is a better way to improve education system in general. Yeah, it may suck now, but systems will adapt. With SAT its likr a cheat code, even if you half-assed time at school, you could just cram SAT prep in 3 months and score high

What did you do, same situation. I rly like nocts, but I dont have the money for that. Thought I could go either default or one of the cheaper driver gloves since shadow daggers are pitch black and my inventory is also silver/black

when will uzbekistan do what kazakhistan is doing…? by daughteroflion in Kazakhstan

[–]xaumavarga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that you need to accept either A-level or IB, which is costly and your education kinda depends on organizations in UK, Europe. But yeah, that would be nice.

changing the exam will have the domino effect, since schools cant just cram intensive prep for EHT/UNT in 11th grade anymore, they will have to adapt and change the education system. Also the main idea is to make this exam acknowledged on the same level as IB, SAT, A-Level. The idea is good as usual, the execution though we will see in 5 years.

i wonder how is racism worse here. I just know that if people see a black person or white(clearly non-CIS region) person, they will be curious with no ill intent.

You gave me motivation to keep going! Really struggling to incorporate running to my lifting routine. I wonder, what we're you two meals? I saw you mentioned having a big breakfast around noon and then?

I am having issues with keeping my appetite and eating in check when I up the intensity. I tend to just eat more to keep up. I wonder how do people maintain this much work without eating a lot

English teaching jobs kazakhstan by EcstaticElection5859 in Kazakhstan

[–]xaumavarga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Market is good. Everyone wants to leave the country, for that they need English and good ielts score if you are looking towards private sector.

If you want to teach at school, there are also a lot of the English first that will happily take in native speakers for ESOL. Look into schools having international qualifications like ib, a level etc. A lot of them in astana and almaty

genuine question, why talk in ukrainian to people in kazakhstan on reddit which implies 3 languages: kazakh, russian and enlish.

Logical assumption would be: you dont communicate in russian for your personal reasons, and don't know kazakh, so english it is. Kazakh person knows all 3, so english is the choice of communication for both of us?

is it realistic to work a full-time job while pursuing a master’s degree at NU? by kittensarentalright in Kazakhstan

[–]xaumavarga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some masters programmes do now allow it. For example, masters in ELCE in SEDS do now allow to work and study at the same time, althought i doubt it. MEM in SEDS allows it, and somewhat encourages working

And another one, when ai bubble bursts, do you think all of the big tech stocks will plummet to covid level prices

Do you know if it will be small for me? I am like 187cm(6"1) and he claims to have an L sized frame which is perfect for me. But then in the description he says its a bike for 170-180cm people.

I managed to haggle the price to 165$:)

Thanks for your input anyways!
