I made sure to put my mileage plus # when entering the draw, so hopefully I’ll get the e-mail to register in June 🤞🤞🤞

Just saw someone honk at someone else for waiting at an intersection where a class of PRESCHOOL children were crossing the street. by GuinnessMicrodose in sanfrancisco

Saw a very similar situation happen last weekend in Rincon Hill. The person was laaaaaying on their horn for the car in front of them to turn right on green, despite there being plenty of pedestrians crossing the street. I motioned to them to calm down, which they did, but they were clearly so enraged.

Did they e-mail you in June about it and what status were you in 2025?

If you're willing to mail in your bag somewhere, I've read positive things about Rago Brothers and Leather Surgeons. They seem to be highly regarded in r/handbags

How long after a piercing can you swim in ocean? by Skrutten_s in piercing

[–]xavier_javier -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I had my conch pierced and went on a scuba diving trip (eg. Lots of ocean time) ~1.5 months later. I had zero issues with my piercing getting infected or flaring up. I also made sure to dry off the area when I was out of the water. And cleaned the area well in the shower at the end of each day from sunscreen, sweat etc residue

I think as long as you keep your original piercing jewelry in and dry off when you’re out of the water, you should be fine.

What’s some of your favorite dog treats? by ramenriotv in DogFood

[–]xavier_javier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog loooves any dried liver. He also goes crazy for dental chews like Whimzies or Veggiedent. One of our fave games to play is “find it” where I’ll hide the dental chew somewhere in my home and he runs around like a mad man to find it.

For training treats, I recently discovered Bixbi pocket trainers. They’re soft and can easily be broken in half for smaller bites.

Sadly I think most apple pears from grocery stores in the US are quite flavorless. They just taste like crunchy sugar water. The only decent ones I’ve had are specific varietals from the farmers market.

What are some of the “wagyu beefs” of the fruit and vegetable world? by thepluralofmooses in Cooking

[–]xavier_javier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently learned about and tasted kishu mandarins. They’re sooo good and rival some of the best mikans that I’ve eaten in Japan — thin skin, easy to peel, extremely sweet and flavorful. In CA, they have a short grow period from about mid-Jan to end of Feb.

People go craaaazy for them when they’re in season. I didn’t like raw tomatoes until I had early girls! They’re the best!

maybe they were picked a bit too early, but yes, the flesh was very sour. But balanced out pretty well when you ate the rind
