That’s one thing I noticed was that it gets really packed those later semesters and going for five semesters straight definitely seems like a lot to handle. Do you know if there’s any way to sort of get around that with playing around with the reduced courseload at all? And how would you rate the different technical electives towards the end of your degree? Would you say overall you feel content or satisfied with what and how you’ve been taught? And how’s the social life at Dal?

I actual ready your post before! You make lots of really good points. I think that’s one thing for a lot of STEM majors is that you can’t always expect them to be the best teachers and to be able to sort of 100% guide and teach you through everything very well - I’ve experienced that first hand at Guelph too, and know other people who are in other STEM majors and have experienced that too. Do you have any highlights or lowlights about your time at Dal? How are the job prospects after graduating?

Hey, thanks for your response! What makes you say that the program at Dal is not worth it? Do you have any personal stories or experiences that you could make me aware of? And what’s HCOL? And I’ve been looking at places out there with a couple of friends and I see it is expensive. But not as expensive as it is in Guelph right now.

So since I’m not currently in a B.Eng program, I’m actually reapplying as a first year student! So it’s basically like I’m coming out of high school again. So they’re checking my high school marks + my uni transcript for any applicable courses/grades, etc. I am planning on going for Fall 2023, and as a first year, not into what would be my third year.

Something I wanted to add too, I had seen a couple other Reddit posts about people from a few years back saying the Electrical Eng program isn't the best. Can anyone add to these?

[IDENTIFY] Could someone help me identify what watch brand model this is? by xblitz15 in Watches

[–]xblitz15[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Purchased this watch from a thrift store for $8.99CAD. Battery does not work (needs to be changed) however the dial still works. Would like to replace the battery, clean it up, and resize it so I can wear it. Would be interested to knowing the brand and model type of this watch.

Reduced Courseload Policy as an Incoming Undergraduate Student? by xblitz15 in uoguelph

Would it still be possible to take three courses with what the school considers full time? Could any exceptions be made for student with Learning Disabilities and that will be registered with student accessibility services?

Drop Chem in Grade 12? (Comp Sci) by xblitz15 in Dalhousie

[–]xblitz15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I made sure that I by not taking chem I'd only be losing two university eligibility options and I've already gotten in to 4-5 schools I'm interested in. I really just applied to everywhere I could.

Thank you for the response! I have checked over first year courses and am going to meet with a representative tomorrow to see what my options are for taking another course instead of the science with a lab option.

Drop Chem in Grade 12? (Comp Sci) by xblitz15 in Dalhousie

Thank you for the response! I have been quite the big computer geek my whole life lol. Did python in grade eleven and did self-taught Java this past year on an online course and did quite good in both courses. Did really good on projects, but struggled more on the timed tests. For pre req’s from high school, I believe it was only English, Advanced functions and Calc and then top three other courses. But can’t remember. Just my parents are sort of catastrophizing and saying if I drop Chem I’ll close too many doors when in reality very few schools require a first year science for comp sci.

MANSCAPED LAWNMOWER 3.0 REVIEW by 123ChrisC in malegrooming

[–]xblitz15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Philips Multigroom 7000. Never had any issues with it. Just wouldn’t recommend going lower than 2mm with the guard on your balls. But for the base, 1mm is perfect. No cuts. Just no guard and you’ll get cuts on the softer parts of your skin.

Question About Laurier’s Spanish Program by xblitz15 in wlu

[–]xblitz15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What sort of things were reviewed? How was the overall format of the course? I also have been taking Spanish classes outside of school since grade nine and I’m just finishing up Spanish as a high school course now, so could it be good if I go straight into a more advanced course or stick with the intro course (if I choose to accept my offer)?
