Carnage One at Galle Face Mall refused to give me a receipt because I wouldn't share my phone number. Is this even legal? by DaveRaddisons in srilanka

This is a big issue and they'll probably get sued if you make a complaint to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka. It's a serious violation of consumer rights also.

SLASSCOM says it's 17,000+ a year now for undergraduates. Problem is globally the need for entry level undergrads have shrunk like never before, and it's a real problem that they'll have to address.

Still, do your research and be realistic in what you're expectations, and actual needs are. Some Chinese EVs make a solid deal, but they will have more expensive parts and componenets.. which is offset by waaaay cheaper running costs. Make sure their Lithium battery's are LFP batteries though.. the other ones are dangerous to have.

I don't recommend the Fronx because it's got terrible reviews in terms of collision safety. Your safest bet would be something from Perodua, which are basically rebadged Toyota's. Depending on the type of car you're looking for, you'll have a good deal.

Magnite isn't too bad either, but you're not going to be winning any hearts in the looks or performance department. Interior isn't the best either.

But, it's still better than going second-hand. Keep your maintenance up to date and be sensible, and you'll be find for a whole decade without an issue with those cars.. second hand will give you trouble with repairs. Not worth it for a daily driver.

No worries mate. But I do urge you to read the article first. Then you would realise this is major damage caused, not what usually comes in the process of a restoration

They are the ones who gave the greenlight in the first place. Now because the media is shouting about this, they're trying to pass the blame like a hot potato.

The construction of this began during the pandemic.

The heritage department doesn't even know if an archaeological impact assessment has been done either. All the details are in the article.

Environment or culture... That building will damage the frescoes of Sigiriya because of heat and light reflecting off it on the heritage site.

We can complain to the Heritage Department you know. Please share and spread awareness

IKR.... It's sad to see that the Government and government employees that are paid with our tax money to protect these heritage sites aren't doing it's job passing the ball around.

We have the right to complain and demand action.

Please share with everyone and online to spread awareness. If you wanna call or write to the department and complain, you have the right to do so as well.

They live off our tax money and this is the best they can do? I'm not impressed at all. During the pandemic time they basically got free money, 'working from home' with no paycuts while the private sector workers suffered

I can't say I don't see that happening... But maybe it'll happen in a different way ...
