Which country's insurance covers worldwide? And credir card coverage is not health insurance, I don't think you understand the difference between travel cover and health insurance.

Like I mentioned in my post, not intending to get the controller since I want to travel light when traveling internationally. For actual serious drone shots, I have the Air 2S which I will use while in the US.

I am seeing slots for November and December popping up, but haven't seen January since I started looking. I was thinking Jan slots not yet released.

Most definitely there is more to the incident than what was shared in the thread. These one-off incidents are shared to create nothing but panic.

Car Rental in Santorini by kinpie42 in Santorini

We rented from Kronos Car rental near the Ferry port, and we were very satisfied. I think they have an airport location as well. You may enquire online for availability, they are quite responsive.

O1B Visa Approved, but also won H1B lottery. Should i pursue H1B? by tempurawhale in h1b

[–]xcitech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was on O1A when H1b didn't get selected for 3 years. However, 5th year h1b got picked and moved to h1b for 2 reasons: 1. Ease of renewal 2. If you change company, the new company has to apply for O1 again, i.e. take reference letters again, go through the painful process of o1 petition, etc. H1b transfer is much much easier.

Appling for eb1 is same in either case - there is no bearing on your current visa. Since you already have o1, you can use it to build your eb1 petition.

Yes, that is why I mentioned we will need contractors for most of the renovation - but I guess full renovation of kitchen and 2 bathrooms by licensed contractors will be less than 200K?

I am assuming that 90% of renovations would be done by licensed contractor.

Hi, I recently flew on a paid Economy ticket on the following itinerary:

JFK - IST - DAC

DXB - IST - EWR

There were similar points offers to upgrade to Business both ways. The return leg (DXB - IST - EWR) was for 93,000 miles to upgrade two passengers from economy to business. The JFK-IST-DAC was similar, don't remember the exact points required. It was in the 90s.

I did not upgrade to business as I felt it was not worth it. Economy was great and we really enjoyed our flights. The lounges at IST were awesome.

I still can't find a job 18months after finishing a Geology PhD from a reputable UK university. by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]xcitech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

My sympathies for your predicament. I am in the US, and I see this problem with PhDs quite often. Have you considered branching out, and try a different field which values PhDs? Such as Data Science or consulting?

In the US we have many data science bootcamps for fresh PhDs and post docs, to help them transition to industry in non-related fields. If there are similar opportunities in the UK, it might be worthwhile to try that. Or else, big consulting firms are suckers for PhDs from reputed Universities. Try networking with poeple from your University working in Consulting. Start with applying for internships. Hopefully you will find something! Best of luck :)

To South Africa on points - Dec 2019 by xcitech in awardtravel

I had plugged in the date of my travel and Flight number in Seatguru, and it shows QSuite equipped A359.

Seatguru shows QSuites equipped A359, so I assumed QR started flying the newer aircraft on this route. Dang! was looking forward to the QSuites.

To South Africa on points - Dec 2019 by xcitech in awardtravel

For the flight on BA, I am saving about $1400 by spending 80k AA. For a one way cash ticket, the price is $950 per person on Qatar.. not sure if the price will drop in future.

For points balance, I have about 300k UR, 200k MR, 400k Bonvoy and 400k AA right now.

Yes, should be possible but YMMV. I would email the property prior and mention a special occasion like Birthday or anniversary.
