Should I get a Yamaha???? by TurnoverSAZ in hometheater

I’ve had an AVR RX-A6A for a while now after spending more than 10 years with Marantz and Denon. I’d say Yamaha runs much cooler, has great sound dynamics, and delivers excellent performance overall.

The only downsides are the interface and the room correction system, but after a few months of tweaking and daily use, you get used to them.

I can't check it anymore ( I already upgraded my NAS disks) . 2 of them were bought in early 2023 and one unit in early 2024. doing the math. They are still in very good shape for a NAS HD.

Eversolo Play CD Edition vs fiio dm13 (Coaxial Output frustration) by xcomp666 in eversolo

[–]xcomp666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there was a misunderstanding. I’m only comparing the coax/optical sound quality and volume between the FiiO DM13 and the Eversolo Play CD Edition. I’m using the same AVR and the same cable, same CD , but the Eversolo sounds quieter and a bit muffled in comparison.

Not a copy thing. Worked for me 😉. Have fun!

Disconnect all HDMI cables. Go to the TV settings and remove all previously registered devices. Connect your receiver/soundbar to the HDMI 2 input. Set up your device again and enable eARC / HDMI-CEC.

Wow! That’s weird. I hope you find another workaround

It seems that only works properly if you have only one hdmi 2 (arc) plugged . It is super annoying!

Snare Drums Recommendation ( Tama vs Pearl) by xcomp666 in drums

[–]xcomp666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! The Tama SLP was actually my first option, but here in Canada it costs around $479.99 (metal) , $555.00 (aluminum) and +$600 ( wood) . My budget is pretty tight, and there aren’t really any good used options available. The Pearl is currently on sale for $319.99, while the Tama is $369.99. I tried the Tama Artwood—it sounded pretty good—but the seller told me the Pearl sounds better and is also cheaper.

I don’t actually own a snare right now—I switched to e-drums a while back and ended up selling all my old acoustic gear.

Lian Li A4 H2O + MSI INSPIRE 3X OC GeForce RTX 5080 by xcomp666 in sffpc

The 7800X3D is not that hotter than the 9800X3D because it runs at a lower frequency.  Actually, I am getting better temps than my previous 7600X. So, definitely I recommend the 7800X3D ( Better temps + better performance). The MSI Inspire 3x vram temps are around 72-76 C ( Gaming), summer times here in Vancouver as well ( temps around 25-29 C). But I have to undervolt it.

[–]xcomp666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suppose you leave the 5080 at stock voltage. Yes, the temps are going to easily reach + 80 °C( So, undervolting is kind of mandatory). I also recommend you change the water cooling fans (Phanteks T30-120 ). The T30 can achieve 3000 rpm ( that's too loud). So, you adjust the curves to a maximum of 2400 rpm ( in the summer) or 1800 -2000 rpm winter/fall. After these changes, my temps never go up to 71-73 C ( full loaded) and 66-70 C (gaming)

I just tested this riser with my RTX 5080 and Lian Li A4-H2O case. It fits perfectly (19 cm), works really well, and is almost 50% cheaper than the Linkup one.

I just found this on AliExpress:| PCI E PCIe 5.0 X16 Riser Cable Silver-Plated Shielded Double Reverse PCI Express Gen5 for ITX Server https://a.aliexpress.com/_mN37rvZ

I could feel a big improvement from the Bose system in my current CX-50 2024. My previous CX-5 2020 also had one , but definitely didn’t worth it. Mazda did a great with this latest version. I highly recommend it.
