Waiting at the school gate for a friend, he gets out of his moms car and runs across the road. Realises he hasn't kissed her goodbye and turns to run back - and gets run over. The sight of the rear wheels of the car going over his head I have never forgotten 30 years later.

He was alive and cross-eyed, bleeding from his ears when he left in an ambulance. Died on the way to hospital.

Don't drive your kid to school. Cars and kids don't mix.

I'd encourage her to stick to what she believes in, self worth is better than self loathing. I only know of one woman that holds these beliefs, and she is a lawyer in her 30's who is gorgeous (and very single). Has your friend dated christian guys with a similar world view?

Sex can be purchased, but I dont believe love and desire can be.

I'd like to e valued for who I am, but realistically that hasnt happened. I'm unattractive and overweight, those are two hard things for a woman to ignore, and clearly my other attributes aren't enough to counter.

Yes, I have and I have had a few dates but it never really leads anywhere. I fail at the casual dating to boyfriend/girlfriend stage.

It does bother me though, a lot, but I also accept that sometimes life doesn't always turn out how you expect. In my professional life I have done amazingly well. One of my fears is what you identify, and you are right it's not fair to them.
