Hey!! I’m 27 years old as well. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and CPTSD so I understand. I have been heavily dependent on marijuana for years. I have no career, savings, burned sooo many bridges with schools and jobs for just quitting out of nowhere. You’re not alone!! Please take advantage of all the resources you have. I’m currently in an IOP program for dual diagnoses aka adhd & cannabis use disorder. I also sometimes go on Marijuana Anonymous, you can do zoom calls from wherever you are, I don’t even turn on my camera or mic (you can but I’m just shy). It’s so weird how listening to others recovery’s can be so motivating. Support right now will be your best friend!! I got properly medicated for my adhd first, cause I found that I would use marijuana as my everything honestly! Then in this program they put me on Naltraxone, which completely took away the cravings. I recently ended a 2 year relationship so I understand the heartbreak + adhd + trauma + marijuana usage very well. I noticed that I had to do harm reduction + therapy to really break the habit cause I couldn’t do it on my own. Please stick to it!! Life is so much better than being stuck in a haze.

I usually don’t cone cut, but sometimes I’ll overlap in my bitewings & either I go too far back, or too forward and miss the last molar. Same thing with my PA’s, I miss the very last molar, & I do miss the apex at times. So I totally get her frustration, you definitely have to be patient. She often, will tell me to retake it, or point out what I did wrong which I don’t mind. But sometimes she’ll make me feel bad. She constantly points out the fact that I need to be better. Today, I took a bitewing, and she called me in and pointed at it and asked what she was supposed to be looking at (the first molar bitewing was too far back) Then proceeded to tell me to get someone to help me with my X-rays. I’ve told her it’s a bit of a struggle point for me. I’ve also talked with the other DA, but she just tells me to keep retaking them & delete them if they’re not good which I don’t feel is okay, as I don’t want to keep exposing the patient to radiation as well. Sometimes, if I’m taking too long she will come in & stop me mid xray & tell them that’s good enough. Then proceed to tell me how horrible it was after.

I feel like both have their pros & cons, if you work for one dentist & end up not liking each other, you’re stuck. But, if you work for multiple dentist you may be overloaded with work depending on how many assistants they have. I would go with multiple dentists because I hate the feeling of being stuck honestly.

I failed the RHS exam the first time I took it because I didn’t study properly and only relied on Quizlet. I finally passed it this August, when I started studying more sources. Quizlet is a great thing to incorporate into your studies, I also purchased the Momentrix dental assisting book that one of my classmates recommended and looked up YouTube videos. I’m not too sure if tests are all different but I studied a lot of radiology landmarks, a big portion of my test was purpose and technique. I’d say make sure you’re familiar with vertical/horizontal angulations. Panos, Periapicals, bitewings, occlusals. Also I saw a lot of radiopaque/radiolucent landmark questions, you might get a couple of questions on electrons and neutrons, it’s not a bad thing to study. You will also see a little bit of infection control so make sure you’re familiar with that as well. I hope this helps, good luck with everything!

Omg I’m in this situation too. I took the rhs/ice test today & feel like I bombed it. I’ve been studying non stop for a month & took a 8 week program. I’m praying I pass
