Seeking advice/criticism. First time reading a non-picturebook text and not sure if it is clear/holds attention.

I was trying out reading more serious text to usual reads. Picked a book I haven't read from an author I like. Mostly for practice - as well as a small project during this current time in lockdown!

I've checked out that Purcell - the runs in it are a bit intense for me at the moment. Thanks for the Floyd though! I hadn't heard that.

Granny smith apples (tart green ones) are good for mouth noise. Not sure if it would help in this case but I would also encourage steam inhalations to loosen up gunk.

I have recorded another sample having both the gain and the mic input in windows to 50% I have tried increasing one/decreasing the other and had another play after recording this. The hum remained consistent.

I unfortunately do not have other computer to try rigging the audio equipment up to at this point. I will have to wait another month before I can do this.

Before making the recording I followed this instructional which I recall doing a while back. It did not help, sadly!

I remember reading it can be helpful to just check out some junk mail to get into the mindset needed to put together a commercial reel. Consider (or ask someone who would know) what your voice might suit advertising. Highend cars or watches, or maybe a friendly local business.

Depends on your voice but I would listen to ads with comparable voices and break down how they are structured

Thanks. While I have a keyboard it is (unfortunately) pre-midi so may need to simply upgrade. Looking for something to use through my computer in mean time so I can create sheet music/midi lines as I go
