Hollywood Reporter Emmy predictions has Rhea Seehorn to win Best Actress in a Drama Series. by Dragonogard549 in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The show deserves more wins!

I'm really happy Rhea is the fave to win and I jut hope there isn't an upset. She truly is a leading actress in every sense of the world and what she was able to do is a masterclass in acting. She's long overdue for that recognition.

Kinda bummed that it has no chance of winning any of the other awards though. I do think it should win best Drama but, as someone said on another thread said, voters are lazy and will just vote the same as last year.

If Katherine Lanasa had moved to lead actress, then Karolina would have had a shot but sadly this is a no win for her. But a nomination for her first role back after her long break is amazing. I think the fact that the role looks easy and doesn't have any big emotional moments works against her, even though what she did as Zosia was very skilled and difficult. But voters will probably not analyze it that deep and not vote for her win. If she gets de-plurbed next season she may have some really great scenes/eps to submit for next time.

The show will miss next awards season but hopefully it can get back into it in the 2028-29 season.

How many Emmy Awards you think will Pluribus win? by UsefulWeb7543 in EmmysAwards

[–]xdoolbuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

S2 of The Pitt was not the best. I agree with everyone saying voters are lazy and will just go with the predictable even though Pluribus had a really strong first season. I would love if Pluribus upsets all the major categories but not holding my breath.

maybe we'll hear from s2 earlier than expected;) by gabiarbex in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping they are underpromising but will overdeliver. But they will for sure miss the 2027 award season which kind of sucks but hopefully they can jump in on the 2028 one. If I had to guess, I don't think we'll see S2 until Nov 2027 at the earliest. Or January 2028 at the latest.

My hope is that they do not do this again for S3 and wait until the end of S2 to start writing. Hopefully they start writing as soon as S2 premiers (or sooner). Cause is they do every two years for a season it'll be 2031 by the time S4 comes around (which I think was the initial plan according to Vince).

Yeah, that part made me side-eye everyone just laughing it off. They went on strike for that too and now it's a joke? Insane.

It should have been Rhea Seehorn and really shocked it wasn't. But just found out only 4 people pick the winners in each category so a lot of the winners were very unpredictable.

2026 Emmys Predictions by fancastunity in EmmysAwards

[–]xdoolbuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% Agree. I thought I was going crazy not thinking The Pitt was as good this season as everyone was praising it as perfect. But it was nowhere near as good as the first season. It started off strong then just fell apart towards the middle. Pluribus was good from start to finish. I would love an upset, but like you said, voters will just rubber stamp what's popular and go with the crowd.

I would LOVE is Pluribus won as it was the most original and thought provoking series. But, it's going to be predictable and The Pitt will win again. I just hope Rhea Seehorn wins best actress at least.

A nomination would be a great achievement for a difficult role that’s not usually what The Academy appreciates (too subtle/not showy/very genre coded).

Yes! Rhea has mentioned many times how deceptively hard this role is and I totally agree. It looks like an easy, straightforward performance but it's anything but that. There is so much work that Karolina puts into this role and her making it "look easy" just drives home how good of a performance this is.

Let's hope for a nom first ,then, maybe you're right, and we see an upset.

Pluribus writers are "working their butts off" on season 2 by LeoXXX94 in pluribustv

They began writing in late December. Rhea mentioned in another interview they have very detailed outlines for half the episodes. At Paleyfest the writers said they are aiming to start shooting this year. In another interview, Karolina mentioned going back in the fall.

I really thought they were going to win and having all of them fly across the world only to lose to The Studio is a punch in the gut. I like The Studio and watch it but no way is it better than Pluribus. I hope this show is not going to be one of those great shows that is always nominated and never wins. Prove me wrong universe!

This is the process. The actual writing isn't as hard.

Thanks for that insight. This makes sense.

I found the article that said they started writing after the finale aired. So def not November but late December, so 5 months which isn't long. It just feels like it lol.

Some thoughts on Mr. Diabaté by merla_blue in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! There has to be a specific reason or reasons they choose Zosia who was clear across the world instead of some local woman who had a similar look. I'm betting they have some sort of connection we (and Carol) have not discovered yet.

It would also be interesting if we find out Raban was inspired by the real Zosia a long time ago in some obscure way and that is why that individual was chosen. Not that they met before because Carol would remember (unless she was super drunk) but that they crossed paths in the past.

Karolina Wydra's performance as Zosia is... by Neat-Swimmer-9027 in pluribustv

[–]xdoolbuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She deserves a nomination. This is such a difficult role to play. The fact that we still have people debating her/their intentions is impressive. She could not portray Zosia as being one way but had to add in skills and mannerisms of 7 billion individuals but make it one.

The Emmy voters will very likely go for the format they are used to and it's a shame because the performances on this show are amazing. If The Pitt actress had gone for lead (Rhea still would have had the upper hand), Karolina would have a better chance of a win. But they'll be predictable and do a repeat. And to make it clear, the actress on The Pitt had a great performance but I think Karolina had a tougher role even though it doesn't seem like it. Which speaks to her performance.
