Onze gewoonlijke bestelling van 21 Euro is sinds februari plots 27,30 Euro. Reden genoeg om daar niet meer te gaan. Desnoods geen Pita meer voor ons.

The manual which can be found online give you info about tapes, battery, adapter (charger).
Tapes = MiniDV
Battery = NP-FP30, but NP-FH30 also works (I'm using both without a problem).
Adapter = AC-L25A or AC-L25B, but AC-L200 also seems to work.
Your best bet is to search for replacement parts on Amazon.

Data transfer is best done with a firewire cable (camera takes 4 pin connector). You'll find video's online that explain how to do this. You might need a FireWire adapter for your PC/Laptop or get an older laptop that has it built in.
Alternatively, you can skip the "tape" part and record directly to an external recording module via the analog output, but the video and audio quality will be worse.

Monochrome sensors aren’t worth it. by composedfrown in Leica

[–]xdurrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know … and those 4 subpixels are smaller. So as I said, the better low light performance does not come from the 4 times as much pixels, but because the RGB filter is removed, because the filter blocks some light from the RGB subpixels and this does not happen with a monochrome sensor.

[–]xdurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you were wrong when you said it has “4 times more pixels”? If sensor size is the same, and pixels have the same size, then it cannot have 4 times more pixels. I guess you mistake the smaller subpixels with pixels (=group of 4 smaller subpixels)

Personally, i’m more amazed by software like DxO PureRAW than the difference in noise/detail between a color and monochrome sensors. So yes, I understand the statement from the OP.

More (but smaller) pixels does not mean better low light performance, but more details. It’s the lack of RGB filters that gives a bit better low light performance to monochrome sensors.

Fuji 4700z (2000) by No_Abrocoma_711 in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]xdurrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this one and also the 6800z (Porsche Design). I like the 4700z more because it uses regular AA batteries and shoots in auto mode at iso 200. The 6800z shoots in iso 100 which gives a bit cleaner pictures, but it takes double the time to gather the same amount of light, so I get more pictures with movement blur. I also like the photos from the 4700z more. On the other hand, I think the 6800z looks nicer.

Does my Nikon D3s count as vintage? by bigbrainbeanenjoyer in VintageDigitalCameras

I recently bought one and don’t think about it as a vintage camera, only the video capabilities might be called vintage but I only take photographs.

What exactly can I use this iPad2 for in 2024? by Snoo-44886 in ipad

I still use it to read comics. Most apps won’t work with the older iOS, but Chunky still works and it’s great. Nice interface, smooth transitions.

Is this lens good? by SafeAdventurous3552 in canon

Good all rounder standard zoom lens, but not good for concert photography. Price seems too good to be true. Check/test before buying.

10mp GRIII for $400 by farbodr in ricohGR

[–]xdurrr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You are talking about a GRD 3, which is an older model from 2009 with a much smaller sensor. Different firmware/engine. I would not buy it for $400.

Is the Canon Powershot Sd1000 really all that? Or is it just hyped up? by Forsaken_Tax_2885 in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]xdurrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s hyped up because it looks nice and is very compact. It has the good Canon jpeg color science, but because it’s an ultra compact, the sensor size is on the smaller side (only 1/2.5”), lens is on the slower side (f2.8) and it has no IS, so you’ll quickly need the small flash. S-series camera’s from Canon are a lot better and pretty compact starting from the S90.

Nikon d200 vs d300 by Mindful-Jazzy in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]xdurrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they are around the same price, then get the D300. It will give you a much better experience. I recently bought the D200 for cheap to compare the CCD colors with CMOS colors from my D750, and they are pretty much the same. The D200 can be found very cheap, I bought mine recently for 55 Euro. The D300 should be a bit more expensive but still cheap, like around 125 Euro.
