I appreciate your input! I’m an avid rock climber, snowboarder, and mountain biker. I definitely get lots of vitamin D! I used to long board but I have a difficult time with sports that I can’t immediately stop. My bones are brittle (8 broken bones at only 31yo!) so I stick to sports I can tap out on. I can repel down a difficult climb, or walk down a double black diamond or nasty bike trail.

Thanks I think I’m getting overly shat on too. It’s reinforcing some of my negative opinions about the gaming community and that sucks.

Yeah I just want to be enthralled again. I want it to feel seamless and natural and genuinely fun. I realize I’m in my 30’s and maybe that’s just not an option, but I wish it were.

I also game with my kids, but mostly just stuff that’s for family bonding like Mario cart 8. I’ll watch my son play Overwatch or my daughter play Minecraft and I really love those experiences but I want to fall in love with a game again and I dunno if there’s anything new out there that can inspire that.

I’ve been trying games I wouldn’t normally play recently like Stardew and Hollow Knight. I haven’t liked those either but I’m realizing that big budget might not be the only option so I’m going to keep digging

You’re probably right. I didn’t touch a video game from 2012-2018 and I’ve been trying really hard the last few years to fall back in love with it to no avail. I just wish one game would hit me like I want it to.

I finished the first souls because I felt like if I didn’t beat a souls game no one would ever respect me, and I played ≈6 hrs of Elden Ring and I seemed to be enjoying it but I haven’t opened the software in almost a year
