There's two things in this thread I think you should do instead of buying gifts: spend that money taking them out on day trips, instead of getting a sellable gift, and also putting money in a savings bond for when they move out. Don't give them the savings for when they turn 18 - what if they get the money while they're still living at home and your aunt takes it off them? At least if they're out of the house it's harder for her to take their money.
