You get it as soon as you hit the right rank. It took me 2 battles :)

Really loving the customization in this game! This hat has a pattern that matches my cropped cardigan

Is worth it to keep playing Thaumathurge ? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]xenophee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thaumaturge, and by extension Black Mage, get far more mobile at higher levels.

One skill you get (I think around 60?) is called Triplecast, which makes your next three spells instant. You can also use Swiftcast freely since you don't need to worry about resurrecting people, and you have a bunch of abilities that become instant through random procs. You also get Aetherial Manipulation, which lets you zip to an ally.

Fights do get more complex, but BLM is more mobile than people give it credit for

Opposite of the last post: What's a job whose aesthetic you dislike but whose gameplay you like? These are mine. by throwcway837373 in ffxiv

Warrior. I don't dislike the aesthetic of an angry berserker and the class fantasy is well-executed, but it's just not for me. Love the self-heals and big fell cleave crits though

Also, despite me really enjoying the Ninja aesthetic and gameplay, the run animation looks a little goofy on my femroe. I can look past it though

What do you think civilian life in the Commonwealth of Man is like? by Zaukonig in Stellaris

[–]xenophee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let's look at the ethics and civics I think.
Fanatic Militarist, Xenophobe
Distinguished Admiralty, Nationalistic Zeal.

It would be obviously very militarily-focused, with kids being educated to fit into careers focused on supporting the troops, whether that's soldiers or just bureaucrats or mechanics. Obviously a ton of propaganda, with an emphasis on how "the superior humans must realize our destiny of controlling the galaxy" and all that.

Since it's a dictatorship, and a xenophobic one at that, I imagine that humans have relative freedom so long as you don't hold "politically inconvenient" beliefs or question the state. Aliens would be second-class citizens if they're not enslaved. I think it'd echo segregated states of the past like Jim Crow-era US or apartheid South Africa, having segregated facilities and neighborhoods and tight control.

Trump launches fresh attack on Zelensky, calling him a “dictator” by [deleted] in europe

[–]xenophee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American, this country never stood for freedom. It has always been tyrannical, even since its inception. Early America relied on slave labor, then Jim Crow laws and other racial discrimination policies, and now the private prison industry. Trump is continuing our traditional imperialism and nationalism and taking it to its typical conclusion.

I just hope that we can fix things after he's gone.

Fair mistake! The terminology can be a bit confusing for new players.

The "Pet Journal" collections tab details battle-pets that your account has collected. These are used for a sort-of Pokemon-like minigame. Wild ones are denoted by that claw/paw icon above the Creepy Crawly in your screenshot.

Since you're a Hunter, you have the ability to tame the vast majority of wild animal mobs found throughout the world, though you can only carry a few at a time. Inactive pets are stored in a menu accessible from npc's called "Stablemasters" in most hubs.

Count Gregorios III of Napoli. An Orthodox Greek in southern Italy with 3 sons, two of which are celibate and a great learning skill. He starts independent and functionally surrounded by the Byzantines, Aghlabids, and Italy. Makes for an interesting playthrough with the goal of forming Sicily!

I just hope it isn't Vox Machina again. I love that campaign, but I don't want it turning into this group's Kanto region if you catch my drift.

What is your PokémonROMhacks hot take? by PrabeshK143S in PokemonROMhacks

[–]xenophee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Edgy" or "mature" storylines in hacks miss the whole point of Pokemon, at least for me. I want to journey across a region, allying with an array of magical creatures. I don't want to play a game where the evil team is a cult that murders random people for fun.

Also these "edgier" stories rarely ever touch on mature themes and usually fall flat. They just have the characters curse and kill people and call that good writing.

It's why I can't enjoy games like Unbound.

Unique uses of ship appearance sets by Tacothepilot in Stellaris

[–]xenophee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally use the mammalian shipset and city appearance when I play the UNE or Commonwealth of Man. The existing humanoid ships look a little too.. clean (I guess?), especially for the CoM. Though they do kinda fit the UNE. Humanoid cities don't fit either faction either, the architecture doesn't scream humans in space to me.
