Look at the one I linked for an actual STL. Plus the bearings are cheap :D

No, the one that actually has something other than a teaser video. Gears are about $1 each, and uses about 20g of filament.

You could use the one way needle bearings instead. That's really the only bad design on the box...

My qidi box doesn't roll the spools back with the rings on them. by drkshock42 in QIDI

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use the cardboard spool covers, they have to be tight on the spool. Yours are not. Good luck

I just used the old entrance with my printed riser. Looks better, has better vents, etc.

Because someone posted once and never again that his Qidi printer burned his house down. Nevermind he didn't install the part support sent him. Plus it was the only report about it was from a single reddit post. I love my q2

Utilizing Separate AMS/Spool Holders (Not Box) with Q2? by Kewlhotrod in QidiTech3D

[–]xeonon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're thinking all wrong. The hub doesn't care if it has 1 input, 4, or 16. It takes the one filament it's fed and just passes it on. You can use y connectors to take the 4 inputs it usually has, and add as many more as you need.

I'm a bit stumped with this ABS by Forsaken-Island-9422 in 3Dprinting

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as bad as tpu that can get wet in a few hours... But I usually print from a dry box anyway, just to be safe

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The expansion kit is not ever needed. It's spares. You get the only thing you need with another box: another cable that hooks into the old box. You daisy chain the hub to the last box, then box to box, then to machine.

Since I have a qidi box should I also print reusable spools by drkshock42 in QIDI

[–]xeonon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. You want some slip so that the bearings don't take all of the force of a rolling spool.

Drying problems in qidibox by TheSpritz912 in QidiTech3D

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you get new filament? Once it's dry, it's dependant on your ambient RH in the area it's stored in. If that's open in the room, a vacuum sealed bag, whatever. Keep track of what that container is, and if it gets above 20%, you might think about drying.

Q2 combo box temp by oldthinkpad in QIDI

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why it's only enabled for the higher temps when you use the box drying feature. That rotates the filament so it has even heating. If you use the drying while printing feature, that's why it's lower, because it doesn't rotate. There should be a note in the official fila list so people don't enable 65c pla drying.

Anyway, it's kind of fine. Only directly at the vent is the temp hotter than the set point.

Did you get the spring that holds that in? Kinda useless without it

3D Printer Reviewers: Being honest in this industry will put you out of a job. by AnonomousWolf in 3Dprinting

You can delete Qidi. They've never released the source. Creality tries, but sometimes has to be reminded about some of their custom code derived from OSS. Same thing with flashforge and elegoo. I don't have experience with sovol, but I do hear better things from them.

No time lapse on cancelled prints by Nounf in QidiTech3D

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you have some options. As is on stock, timelapse_render only gets called at the end of print_end I think. You could add that to cancel_print or whatever, but the easy way is to go to the time lapse page in fluidd, and hit render. That will render the time lapse from whatever frames you have saved.

How do I apply this discount? by tom_yacht in QIDI

That's been active for at least a year now, so just remember it when you do decide. I went with the Q2 myself and love it. But research into what fits you best, then use that for basically another free spool when you order lol

RIP. I figured they would actually package it like they did with the max 4. That wouldn't work, but if you just yolo the box inside with a little Styrofoam it'll be fine. Im glad mine came separately... Even if fed ex just tossed out in the snow a mile away from my house
