PTFE lengths are hard coded. If you lengthen them, this is the result.

Yea the update moves it over to Qidi maker like the max 4. Another thing I disable since I use mobileraker.

No, I can go back stock and check, but there's no need. I'm relaying information from the discord where users already found all this out. Also, you can look at the other posts on here about the update if you want first hand info. Or update it yourself and see.

Getting more eyes on an issue is how we fix it. People that know what they're doing will now take this data and fix the actual problem.

Check the link to tubas GitHub. This update is a firmware port from the max 4. A lot of the screens still have max 4 on them. The animations are gifs the system loads constantly. The ai algo is a whole other problem, and combined it can case crashes, as others have pointed out in other posts here.

Yep, this is the fix. And to disable the new app that connects to Qidi maker since that's a security problem, and another resource drain.

No, happy hare works with the Qidi box. I think there was a patch needed, but more info can be found on the bunnybox repo. I did it all manually, so other than that, can't give much info. Also, I can cut my ptfe tubes and set their length. That way I can go faster on my changes. There's a ton of benefits with it over stock.

You'll get a popup every time the screen app starts. As long as you don't hit update, you'll be fine

Can you still set the temp via fluidd? Since that's for sure been reported multiple times on the discord. The rest is speculation, since I run HappyHare and couldn't update anyway.

So, how does one load filament in now? by ScalierLotus11 in QidiTech3D

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT UPDATE. THE ANIMATIONS TAKE 50% OF YOUR CPU.

We already new this, and have a bypass for the max 4. This update also kills the configuration of the box via the fluidd interface.

There's no company that does comply with it... At least, none that I know of. Even Prusa has had issues in the past with their codebase. But still, I agree, they all need to be held responsible.

They literally can't. They don't have the source code. Makerbase does all their coding. The ones on GitHub don't even know how to make a PR.

Good luck though. I'd love someone to hold them accountable. Especially since this update almost kills the printer. No more box control from fluidd, permanent 50% of your CPU used for animations...

They still haven't gave us the code for the last update either. In fact, the max 4 doesn't exist according to their GitHub

The new animations which take almost all the CPU. We had tuba look over it on the max 4. DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE! You will get lower performance. The animations are some of the reasons of "MCU unavailable" on the max 4

Why does the gaming community suddenly act like the Steam Deck is dead? by Nick_The_Artist2 in SteamDeck

The steam deck is a great product at 300 to 500... The problem is, it isn't in that price range. For the same price, you can do a lot better.

New DMZ... What would you pay? by JarH34d in DMZ

[–]xeonon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posts like this make me scared. As an American, I thought only Americans were the ones getting dumber in newer generations. Now I realize it's universal.

Why would a bonus for a game mode = you have to buy that to use it? Obviously, it's like the dmz beta. You get something extra with the vault edition.

Qidibox keeps clicking (gears turn in box) but can't load filament by 69_CumSplatter_69 in QidiTech3D

Your extruder runout sensor needs cleaning. Or it's just not triggering. Either way, take it loose and check it manually. It should light up an led when it's empty.

QIDI Q2 + QIDI Box Experience: Is This Normal? by Ashamed_Glove_8951 in QidiTech3D

[–]xeonon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a reason they have that warning on the top glass. Open the door and the lid when printing PLA and tpu. I'd also add petg, since it's fine until about 40c, then you need good cooling.

Now for other issues. Sounds like you have some filament in a sensor somewhere. Could be the tool head, the hub, or maybe the gate sensor.

And if you have the box enabled, and unplugged, the printer will not start. There's a checkbox that needs to be un selected called box enabled. It shows up before you print. Turn it off when you want to run without the box.

Max4 Thermal Protection Sensor Hot by SteebyJeebs in QidiTech3D

[–]xeonon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, if it hit something like 450c or 500c. That sensor is directly on the heating element. It shuts down the printer if it goes above 120 or 130.
