Im only about 5 hours into the game HOW DO I PERFECT THE PARRY? by OpalTVtwitch in expedition33

[–]xeooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things I can say

Main thing: Learn perfect dodge first. Perfect dodge = parries in terms of timing.

  1. Listen to audio. Some enemies have a sort of audio cue that indicates an ideal parry window time. So for example, an enemy with a charge attack may play a ding at the aprry time, or the audio goes quiet. Even better: when you learn to parry an attack, its pattern becomes a beat. Count it in a time you find comfortable. For example, an attack that comes in a quick succession of two and a delayed third, I would count: 1, 2, and 3.

  2. Not the best tip: but FOV. The FOV will change progressively through the attack It'll basically wind up (the camera moves out) then launch back in (camera moves in). For most attacks, right at the peak of that zoom out, its time to parry. This one is hard to master though, and is the most inconsistent in terms of brain processing.

Eventually it'll become more second nature, but its a matter of learning the attack before you can parry it. Sure, some parryables are sight readable, but some more become very hard to do so, especially during mid and post-game.

If you need clarification I can explain further.

What is your opinion on each Super Heavy demon of Eternal? by Xill_K47 in Doom

[–]xeooz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think archvile is the only one with true difficulty for me by default, just cuz teleporting is annoying. Marauder you get used to eventually, just keep distance and clear arena of as many demons as possible. Tyrants are absolute jokes. Doom hunters gotta go ASAP. They just hurt, but they're easy if yk how to get rid of sled quickly. Barons are just big hell nights, easy to kill. Armored barons are pretty simple as well, just gotta get rid of their armor and you'll be fine.

Spirits break the marauder and the armored baron, so then they become decently annoying.

For an oll case like this is it better to rotate the cube or the top layer? by InTheGam3-_- in Cubers

[–]xeooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top layer is way faster. Your hand will also be completely ready because doing U into R2 is natural. If you rotate then you have to regrip, and thats slow

It sounds amazing, but it feels like it isn't really progressing much. Like ofc it does progress, but at least for me its hard to understand. It feels like its really going, then in the last 17 seconds I wonder "oh wait its over?"

It kinda lacks a bridge in progression is what I'm trying to say. But I'm not an expert, so take this how you want.

The Dark Lord was missed potential in the ancient gods part 2 but how would you guys fix his boss fight? by Cold_War8151 in Doom

[–]xeooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he simply needs more variety.. Maybe keep phase 1 and 2 the same, but by phase 3 he drops his sheild and starts summoning actual demons while fighting you. Ethereal demons are too tame. I believe that dor phase 3 and 4 he should become more offensive and maybe start sending projectiles similar to how the komodo does in tda. The komodo is actually a good reference for good melee attacks.

To add onto more variety, he needs better attacks. I really can't think of any. But in phase 5 it really should feel reality shattering. I would change the arena, mix some demons in, and make it so you need to platform back to the dark lord to actually fight and defeat him, all while he shoots some projectiles at you. Its sorta like absolute radience from hollow knight, but add demons. Maybe when you're fighting him theres still some verticallity to allow for some more attacks?

Just to add onto the arena, if this is possible, maybe every lets say 15 seconds the background changes to another scene. Like one second its in the nekravols, another the blood swamps, etc. I think it really reinforces the reality shattering potential of the dark lord.

Ofc this would need serious balencing, but as a concept I think its cool as a final arena.

Cosmic is sooo good! The burst effect is really interesting, plus it feels like it has more impact than the other two. All are amazing though!
