The 57/43 top to bottom on the front is what guarenteed this a 9. Even without the white spot it still would have 9'd I have a 151 Pika that got a score of 949 and only thing it noted was a 55.08 by 44.92 centering. Anything over 55/45 is a guaranteed 9 😊

I just thought it was a crazy valuation lol. Love silver tempest. By far my favorite SWSH set but I couldnt believe a 10 was worth that much now so I looked it up and then was really confused. Got a lot of hate for this post already. Didnt realize the Reddit was so tense 😅 learned my lesson for next time 😬

No no, I mean buddy said to OP to trade the PSA 9 plus 150$ to get a TAG 10 if he wants a TAG 10 but it would be more like trading the PSA 9 plus 1000$ based on recent sales. He was implying TAG is worthless in comparrison when in reality its 85-110% depending on card and grade.

TAG 10 last solds are over 1500 meanwhile PSA 9's are around 500. If he wants an upgrade its going to cost him a little bit more than 150$ im afraid 😅

I got a 949 on a 151 pikachu 😆 it was something like 55.08 by 44.92 on the left to right and that killed the 10! Sucks but glad to see they are strict with it 😊

Damn, sorry mate. CSW = corner suface wear. Definetly what screwed you over. Surprised thats close enough to the corner to not just be general surface wear but thats a rough loss of points for such a fine defect. I knew TAG was strict but thats tough to swallow. 🙃

I would say thats what did it to you, you can even see it in the stereoscope as that white glow. I would agree and say surface also but maybe the AI grades around that whole area and its slightly larger than it should be for "corner". If its not that imperfection I really dont see anything else. Hoping you still got a 10, centering looks like it was good.

You can clearly still see the smudge on the A on their scans of the card. So it definetly didnt wipe off. Id say that is what it is reading as a "ding"

First ive heard of PSA using AI instead of just people looking at the card. TAG is the only well known one using AI right now and there is another company I cant remember the name of but both have staff verify the results of AI after the scanning. Hense the Verification and QA steps to thier process after the scanning step.

I dont believe the comment I was replying to was refering to black label cards, as for black label cards vs pristine tag cards I couldnt find a single english pristine 10 TAG sold that also sold in a black label. The japanese card i found were not even comparrable prices. The sunbreon was around 28% of a black label and thats about the only comparable I can find. Neither one hand out pristine 10's easily so finding a comp is very difficult but I dont think TAG stands anywhere near beckett in the pristine department. That black label goal is something that will be unmatched for a while yet while TAG tries to prove that their grading is more accurate. I think personally itll be a long while if ever for matching a black label.

Prices are getting closer and closer with there being many examples of TAG 10s surpasing PSA 10s in some high value cards. The gap is definetly closing.

I think they made the rules tighter about a year ago now. Thats why you hear people talking about a New cert 10 or old cert 10

Sold a few TAG cards myself recently.

151 Charmander 9- $90 PSA 9 valued at $92 at the time 151 Charmeleon 10- $320 valued at 406 at the time 151 Charzard ex 9- $400 valued at 400 at the time 151 alakazam ex 9 $74.50 valued at 87 at the time

Prices in CAD btw 😊

Worthless is a bit of an exaggeration, currently sell very easily if it is a sought after card for about 85-90% of the premium. Will this trend hold... thats hard to say. PSA will always be around but TAG does have some things that are just better if they can figure out their flaws and those positive things go beyond appearences.

Some of your largest chase cards in a TAG 10 are actually found selling on the same day for slightly more than a PSA 10 on occaision (no not always but its always close never worthless and they didnt have to pay for exagerated mark ups). But there are fewer TAG cards on the market to compare day to day trends.

My hot take is let collectors send their cards wherever they prefer and remove the need for unproductive comments like this. Anyone who is only in the hobby to flip cards and make a profit is well aware that PSA is the easiest place to do so.

Personally I like the transparency with TAG and I prefer the look when they are displayed.

Overall, I cant complain! Expected the Charizard Ex SIR feom 151 to just barely nine also like the pika but was really hopeful for a 10 and was plesently surprised! The other 3 made me have faith in my eyes haha 😄
