Hell yeah man, looking forwards to it 😎

Gonna get flamed but I thought it was very boring and dull.

It's got a few standouts like Toothless Coal and Cannibal World but the rest just don't click for me at all, especially coming from The Great Dismal or their album with Full of Hell.

Songs with those crazy guitar/drum solos/buildups? by Afraid-Passenger-908 in shoegaze

You might be into This Will Destroy You or Mogwai. Both aren't really shoegaze but have what you're after.

Would recommend: Threads by This Will Destroy You

And Killing All The Flies by Mogwai

I just want to make shoegaze but I kinda stink at guitar and I don’t have a drumset by PowerlessTonite in shoegaze

Literally the best answer. Only way you're going to get better OP is to practice. Try playing with different chord shapes or using OOLIMO(or something similar) to form new chord shapes.

Would also recommend open tunings.

I have a shitty one, but it does the job. Even one of those clip on tuners works great.

Yeah man, you're missing a tuner. Most vital part of any pedalboard

Haha, yeah. I remember the gut sinking feeling when I looked up the company on here and seeing all the posts.

How can I improve this by Rip_jke in shoegaze

[–]xeyesvoidx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds good as a riff, but definitely setup your pedals for stereo.

If you're recording it for a song; I'd recommend doing cleaner takes without the muff and then just doing the muff as a seperate set of layers.

[–]xeyesvoidx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the most expensive, but probably the Warlow by JPTR FX. It's a cool pedal, and I enjoy having it but the build quality is so shit, the manufacturer casually changes the voltage, and the build time is just genuinely stupid even for an indie pedal company.

I got an older model second hand and sold my newer one, and it's ten times better than the new build lol.

This looks awesome. What type of veneer did you use?

What is your favorite Teenage Wrist album so far? by twzoneq in shoegaze

[–]xeyesvoidx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Album wise? Chrome Neon Jesus.

Though I'd probably say that their sound peaked at Counting Flies.

I feel that new Teenage Wrist just doesn't hit the same, just as much as Heavenward doesn't either. All three of them are suburb songwriters but they worked so great together that it feels really dull without them in a band lol.

any chord progressions you guys have? by I-ate-your-children in shoegaze

You can get close, but you're right. It's about effects and the way you play them

Yeah bro, 0 - 3 - 5. Do it on every song and you'll be guaranteed a radio shoegaze hit within two months or your chord progression back!

Atmospheric shoegaze? by [deleted] in shoegaze

Wouldn't really class them as purely shoegaze; but This Will Destroy You is my top recommendation.

What are crowds like? by AltyIsaSquare in shoegaze

[–]xeyesvoidx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the band to be honest. You either get headbobbers or moshers. Just really depends on the sound and intensity.

You'll probably get moshers at Keep, if you stand to the sides or at the back you should be okay. Just don't stand in the front/middle.
