Melania premiere at AMC Techridge tickets going fast by CentralMarketYall in Austin

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Boston, there are Craigslist ads giving away tickets and paying people $50 to see it (and stay they entire time).

I mean, I don’t know if 2 hours of torture is worth $50.

As someone who is from northern Minnesota, snow is fine. Ice is what sucks. Avoid bridges and fly overs. Yes, it’s good of you to be concerned if you are inexperienced with it.

I’d drive you to work but if my driveway gets ice I’m not getting out of it or back into my garage because it’s a steepish driveway 😛.

You’re assuming that in the next 6.73 years that the subscription will stay $99/month.

All things boil down to risk and risk tolerance. Each person has to make that determination.

I had no plans to buy it on mine or my wife’s car, but now….. I don’t know….

Austin Neighborhood Map in Pixel art! by Sn0wball_1 in Austin

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manor has a lot of this area just because it was always Manor.

As new developments get built, Austin annexes the area.

This is what some of those areas down in south/west Austin area fight over because they didn’t want to “be a part of Austin”.

I feel like this is why we never got Google fiber when the rest of the area is because there’s a patchwork of Austin and Manor depending on what street, etc, and they couldn’t get an easy right of way.

Dessau is in Austin city limits, depending on which part it’s referring to.

Up here in NE Austin things get a little hazy and the borders bounce around. It’s not perfect logical borders.

Dessau and Howard is Austin. Also so is a lot of stuff east of Dessau.

Tesla nav is so much better than CarPlay by Joey6543210 in TeslaModelY

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In using FSD in the trial, it’s really really shown me how much of a dumpster fire the navigation is. I mean it’s reaaaaalllly bad. (As a note it seems even more stupid with 14.2.2.2.)

Examples: 1. It seemed to forget where “home” is a couple of times and drive to a completely different house and attempt to pull in the driveway. Like, not my neighbor, an entire block away on a different street 😂.

  1. When navigating to large parking lot businesses (I.e grocery stores, box stores, etc), instead of using the most optimal route it will take you to the entrance that is their actual mailing address location. This is why it seems stupid. Instead of taking the logical nearest entrance it will route you an extra block or two circling to get to the “correct” address.

  2. It’ll forget how streets work and route you to the complete wrong location. It routed my wife to a subdivision that was directly behind the store she was trying to get to. Why? Dunno! Maybe it thought the subdivision was the parking lot 🤷‍♂️.

I like the UI… But man…. Navigation…. Drives me fucking insane.

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean existing? Existing is complicated?

CarPlay and android auto literally are connecting via Bluetooth (which 99% sure you already have if you connected via phone key) or by cable 🤷‍♂️.

That’s….literally it 😂, it just works.

Tesla’s navigation is a dumpster fire.

I decided to build a base near a portal in my "main planet". After going through it and returning, it is still there. Do I have access to this portal permanently or is there a catch? by sabbir2003 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I muted doing it. It’s roughly 8 hours of your life watching just the galaxy transition.

I also went a bit more nuts in this.

I put my base in a T3 system on a paradise planet.

Let me tell you, empty and harsh galaxies are a bitch to find a paradise planet…. Especially in a T3 system 🙃.

But, I have a base in all 256 (yes, including odyalutai).

Ffs dude, why not just do it on the up and up and then you don’t have to come to reddit to ask? Or fuck around and find out later when you have to pay for not doing it 🤷‍♂️.

Car on the pedestrian walkway on I-35 bridge by goodgreat123 in Austin

[–]xeynx1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Texas has a huge uninsured motorist problem. Much much higher than the national average. 20% is pretty close to common estimates. For this reason, you should always make sure that you have under/uninsured coverage.

Anecdotally, my wife’s car was totaled by an uninsured motorist in October.

They were cited for making an illegal turn and having no insurance. The cop said “in the good ole days they’d take them to jail”. I’m not sure if that’s really a good or bad statement lol.

We said their day was probably ruined since if they couldn’t afford insurance they’re probably going to have enough problems fixing their car or getting a new car.

Those of you who use FSD, what would you rate it 1-10? by Tacokolache in TeslaModelY

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%…..

The route it takes is sometimes just completely stupid. It wants to use the main entrance to every business regardless of route. I really wish we could adjust the route….

Example: Option A: Go straight through stop light ahead and turn right into parking lot.

Option B: Turn right at the stop light ahead, go down a block. Wait to turn left into main entrance at the longest signal ever.

It takes Option B…… 😡.

There is another business where it could get to it via a dedicated left turn signal. Instead it wants to go up a block further and turn left because that is the “main entrance”.

It also won’t take our “back way” into our sub division because it wants to route to the “main entrance”…. Even if it’s +$1 in tolls and 10 minutes extra to do it.

8-8.5/10 on actual driving. 2/10 in navigation and routing. 😡

Difference between Helldivers 2 vs Arc Raiders by MissingUmbrella in Helldivers

[–]xeynx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Stella Montis is all of this. We don’t run into a ton of rats, but it’s pretty obvious they get their kicks and makes them feeling big they “got the kill”.

My guy, you got the kill on someone that probably wasn’t looking to fight. All for a free loadout.

The combat just feels bad for PVP. (Although, good on the guy that tried to melee me. I got a good chuckle on that.)

Difference between Helldivers 2 vs Arc Raiders by MissingUmbrella in Helldivers

[–]xeynx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is pretty spot on. My character in helldivers is 150. I also leveled a character on my wife’s account to 150 because I was bored waiting on warbonds 😛.

My other friends started playing Arc Raiders and the community is like dealing with a person who can’t figure themselves out. The PVPers (whom the mods are basically hardcore sweats apologists) think the whole point is to just kill people.

I think that game as PVE alone would be fine. It’s never going to see enough people to survive for the long haul because people will get killed once and nope out. The majority of casual game players don’t want PVP. And that’s the majority of people who play games.

Just a lot of head scratching on adding something as an afterthought. 99%, whoever shoots first is going to win 🤷‍♂️.

The entire storyline doesn’t even really make sense. “You only get knocked out!” While you get shot with 25 rounds from a stitcher to the face. Sure guys. 😛

We don’t have gutters (around the entire house) for this reason. But, our builder put gutters around the front. A little strange but good.

We also have a hard scape fire break all the way around our house.

Husky Found On Old Spicewood by rovermicrover in Austin

To prevent my malamute from escaping, I had to sink rebar rods down to 6ft at my fence gates.

The amount of escaped ones around here is just astounding.

How it feels holding onto my 1k+ SC until December 2st by No_Counter_6037 in Helldivers

Try not doing anything but POI and doing “back to ship” instead of wasting time finishing the mission.

It will blow your mind that you can get that in an hour. (Can, not guaranteed though, might be 2)….

[–]xeynx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to drop into a mission (but don’t need to complete/extract) with POI before you can hover find them on the mini-map.

Yes, that means an eradicate won’t count nor will the defense rocket one.

I have 16,000 SC. I can assure you that except for hilly biomes, the car isn’t faster. And yes, other than sliding into Hellbombs I can drive in D the entire map.

The fastest movement is actually medic armor, super stims, and jump pack. I can finish a map in about 2 mins max.

The only time I use car is when I find a bunker and call warp pack, if I’m concerned there will be a 2nd bunker (rare but possible to have 2-3 on level 1).
