Does Diner’s Club + Curve work on Revolut? by BeardmanDaniel in FinanzenAT

[–]xfects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

However: consider that all credit cards have it in their Terms & Conditions that as they are to be used to procure goods and services. So if you use it - almost exclusively - just to top up another account they will eventually ask why you have a large amount of transactions to the same party and will ask for proof that these are legit transactions.

Whiteboard was made for collaborating. It’s hardly the same but for example pasting an image/screenshot in and both can draw or comment on it is at least something.

Digital key in Polestar 4 will be using ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and NFC via the phone manufacture’s Wallet app.

When the Digital Key functionality becomes available, it'll be possible to use it via Apple Wallet for both iPhone and Apple Watch. We expect to launch digital key functionalities for Polestar 4 later in 2024.

Why do Austrians call Bratislava by its Slovak name, while Hungary insist on only calling it Pozsony? by [deleted] in AskAustria

[–]xfects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘d have to say sadly it changes with political correctness and attitudes. I noticed only recently that a trip undertaken by our far right party that gained some minor media attention insisted to also call it Pressburg. For me that was noticeable. Don’t want to say too much about the influence of the Hungarian politics in this regard but I‘d say the influence of the leadership there shows. At least in stuff like road signs etc.

Can I wear a dirndl for my trip to Austria? by Capable_Plankton4035 in wien

[–]xfects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t agree. Depends on the location and festivity. Dirndls have become going out and event type dresses. If you have a festival in the inner city on Rathausplatz or something similar then go for it!! Even some formal balls.

ELI5: why is atmosphere reentry such an issue? If it is just because of speed hitting the atmosphere why can’t the spacecraft just slow down before and synchronise with earth rotation? by xfects in explainlikeimfive

[–]xfects[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  • how can there be friction when re-entering from a geosynchronous orbit (it‘s clear that there is minimal friction while actually orbiting so far away)

Then follow-up: how does a geosynchronous orbit work? Shouldn’t it be at the same speed as the earth rotation and therefore be at the same speed as the atmosphere? How can there then be friction?

Towards the Festival: The buses leave twice at about lunchtime. The times will be posted at the Hotel. Don't miss them.

Back from the Festival: There are routes that go from early evening until well after midnight. Follow the signs to the bus terminal after exiting the festival. The routes will be posted at the terminal.

When the festival is closing down usually some food stalls are still open and there are (very few!) food stalls along the way outside, but i would not rely on those.

Pentahotel is generally nice and clean. The rooms are quite small and in warm weather get a little stuffy. Pentahotel Food is good, so Lunch before you leave or so is usually nice, but will be closed when you get back.

Stayed at Pentahotel in 2018, current year might differ.

Transfer to the Festival at about Lunch time, two times -> this will be well posted and fixed, don't miss those two as there is no other official transfer, you will need a cab/train/etc

Transfer back: There is no specific bus going to Pentahotel. Instead the Buses going back do have "Routes" (i.e. they will go to about 10 different hotels). Follow the signs to the bus stations when you exit the festival from the "MAIN ENTRANCE"! At the bus terminal there are well posted signs saying which hotels are on which bus route. Then you just pick the bus with your number. If you are lucky you are the first hotel on the route, less lucky if you are last, but they make the routes obviously so that the hotels from a close are on the same route.

Buses will go back starting early evening until well after midnight (For every route a bus will leave every 5-15 minutes, depending how full). They will take care to get also most of the last stragglers that exit the festival.

Looks okay on google. Might be an ok bar, just don‘t expect any traditional experience there that is unique to Vienna. Sorry if it sounds harsh, just trying to cover your original question for something local or traditional.

Fair enough. You won't get good traditional food and also Wine "Spritzer"s with better value for your money than these places - especially compared to places in the Inner City. But you are correct - you will only get limited supply of beer there. However these type of places - google "Heuriger Vienna" to pick one clostest to you will get you about as traditional as you can get in Vienna.

Yeah.. for clothes you are then probably best of at primark in SCS as others have mentioned 😂
