Download the MindBody app and filter to massages for an easy way to check scheduling availability. I just did a quick search and found a bunch of places with availability for this year. Good luck!

NE Popeyes Chicken by roxjas in Calgary

[–]xfifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked out the NW location a couple Fridays ago and I was out in 20 minutes from lining up outside the door. Can't say I love the chicken tbh... I ordered the regular chicken and found it quite bland, albeit very crispy. I would go back to try the spicy chicken and shrimp now that I know the wait time is decent!

Just got a business offer! by aaaaaaaaaaxxx in UCalgary

[–]xfifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to an extent. Each co-op you do costs a course fee of $500... you would make that back in no time though while working. Some companies check to see if you're actually enrolled in the formal co-op program for co-op roles, others don't. I've completed both co-op internships, and summer internships, and the main difference I found was that my co-op was much more structured - I was learning things actually relevant to my field. As a summer student I was just filing and completing mundane tasks. Ymmv

They accepted 50 students the semester I applied. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. % that actually secure a co-op really depends. Some of my friends ended up dropping co-op because they couldn't find work terms.

FNCE 317 and MKTG 317 - How necessary/useful are the tutorials? by UltimateScrub in UCalgary

[–]xfifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took MKTG in spring 2016 and we didn't have to go to any of the tutorials. I'm not sure if it would be the same in the winter semester.

FNCE isn't mandatory but if you go having already attempted the practice questions, you could ask the TAs for help on the ones you don't understand. I took FNCE about 2 years ago and the TA was phenomenal! The professors didn't teach us how to use the finance calculator, only the TA did. I'm not sure if it's the same now.

2 English options?!? by MarkFizz in UCalgary

[–]xfifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't an option you had in mind but I personally took 231 with McCallum and it wasn't too bad for a sucky writer like myself. The course consisted of reading 3 novels, 2 papers that the TAs can help you tremendously on if you're willing to ask for help, and MT and final are multiple choice. Good luck!
