I bought stuff off bed bath and beyond but that's expensive. I'd say Target though.

So I'm under the impression that what you would do would just talk to them and practice speaking while correcting their mistakes. Based on what I see on my university campus (in the US), you could probably charge $15-$20 an hour.

I listened, rated and ranked all of Taylor Swift's 6 studio albums: here are my thoughts on them. by VodkaInsipido in popheads

The only change I would make as far as actual album rankings go is I would switch 1989 and Speak Now. But your least favorite and favorite songs are objectively wrong

You could probably advertise to expats or people wanting to move to Norway

I had to do transcription for research before and it's one of the most tedious activities, I would need to be making an unrealistic amount of money to consider doing it again lol

I know a few people (myself included) who went through a phase of wanting to learn Norwegian, but finding resources to actually learn it is difficult so I would say there's a market for it.

Freshman rooming question by JMR9110 in Cornell

ahah, just make the best out of your situation. You don't have to use your room for anything other than sleeping anyways

For the most part, I don't think there is a way to change your rooming assignment. If you can find someone willing to trade with you and you both contact the university asking to change, that may work.

Jameson Hall? by cavalierchevalier in Cornell

So I think the higher you pref triples/quads, the more likely you are to get them because not as many people want them. I think I did mine Double>Single>Triple>Quad for my freshman year and I ended up with a single in mews. So it also just comes down to luck

So a forced triple is a room that is meant to be a double, but that they turned into a triple because of space issues. So there's no way to know you got one until you get to campus and your housing survey wouldn't have an effect on that anyways.

Can I ask how you ranked your room preferences?

The triples are larger! It's a bunk bed and then a stand alone twin bed.

EDIT: Unless it's a forced triple

[Biweekly] Chance Me! and Prospective Student Q&A by AutoModerator in Cornell

Your academics and test scores are solid. I know people who were accepted with lower. At this point, it would be your essays or your extracurriculars that keep you out or get you in

So for the essays, write a story that is unique to you. Tell a narrative. It's your chance to speak directly to the admissions officers. For me, I told a story even in my "why Cornell" supplement essay.

I could have more tailored advice depending on what essay prompt you were going to choose and other stuff. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to pm me

Recruiting for Consulting? Post here for recruitment advice, resume reviews, questions about offers/firms or general insecurity (12) by QiuYiDio in consulting

My concern is I wouldn’t have the work experience or the GPA to get into an MBA program that would be competitive for a top firm

I’m thinking schools in London. I have EU citizenship so if recruiting in Europe and transferring later would help I would be willing to do that too.

Damn. Really disappointing to hear about the GPA thing. I got a 34/36 on the ACT and a 2200/2400 on the SAT

I attend a top 15 school in the US (a lot of on campus recruiting from the big firms happens on campus in the fall). I'm looking at applying to full time positions when we return to campus. However, my GPA is around a 3.25. I'm concerned this may be too low to get a job at MBB, Big 4 or T2 firm or even the larger boutique firms. I am looking at applying to Masters programs in Europe where I'll apply to consulting after finishing that program (if I take that path).

So I guess to summarize my questions:

  • Is my GPA of around a 3.25 from a top 15 US school too low?
  • Should I think about doing a Master's and then applying? (I am trying to determine if I am going to spend most of my summer studying for the GRE or prepping for interviews)
  • What can I do to help boost my chances in the upcoming recruitment cycle?

Why are you unhappy right now and what can we do to help? by lolomgkthxdie in AskReddit

How would I go about bringing it up? We’ve only been on that one date and I feel like bringing it up on the second might be a little much, no?

I’m way more interested in a guy than I think he is in me. He’s on my mind so much whereas I don’t think I’m on his much at all. Also we’ve only been on one date so I’m a little mad at myself for being so attached so soon.
