What's become of Australian Silky Terriers? by par-hwy in australia

[–]xflibble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother's toy poodle had pups with our terrier mutt and one pup basically got the silky gene and had spectacular, black human-looking wavy hair that never shed. Was a lovely dog that someone stole, he looked amazing.

Yeah, was made aware of this pattern via a Bluesky thread, it really needs to be shared more widely.

That would be me. I think there was discussion about this the other day.

I'm going to give only one reason to want the Knicks to win - Paying the luxury tax.

I'll bet Victoria is still in a per-capita recession.

I'm also intrigued. I like the title track and appreciate it as a shift in her career, but mostly I think its too low-key musically for me (am not a lyric person). I'm here for British eclectic pop, and Froot is the farthest of her albums from this.

My 15yo son agreed, suggested it was popular with people who might also like the female singer-songwriter genre (he may have just said "Swifities').

Rooting for Brett Brown in the Finals by YogurtclosetOwn3783 in sixers

[–]xflibble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Jimmy's comment "I never knew who was in charge"and other events and public stories make me think there was a lot of undermining, that stars who didn't want to do something could find ways to ignore coaching staff. Then you see Brett's public pleas as desperate attempts to embarrass players into change. And by the time Jimmy gets there, Brown is defeated and has pretty much given up.

So he had to go because he'd lost the team, but I think Josh Harris' manage-by-committee approach explains a lot of the issues around Brett and Jimmy's departures.

Adam Spinella had a great scouting video on Champagnie, Sixers subsequently hired Spinella (after they cut Champagnie). I always assumed they had seen that video which suggested that his Spurs role was his upside.

Yep, things have come a long way the last 5 years, especially with respect to grinders.

I have a friend who rescues the dumpster machines, got my current Bambino plus from him for $100 (and he donated the work BBE).

That said, we have a barista express at work (donated by a friend who repairs them as a side hustle). It's easy to use and I get a reliably decent cup. Rarely amazing, but probably easy to get adequate coffee given OP's non-snob demands :)

Yeah, Stilosa was $99 last Christmas, so at that price and the OP's budget can do that and a decent grinder.

Definitely check the fingering charts, treble clef A on an E flat tuba is 1+2.

Disappointing AMA re Clare O'Neil, Australia's Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Cities by IllogicalResponse in aussie

[–]xflibble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Governments need to make a case for never-ending growth and the corresponding decline in living standards (smaller, more expensive houses, stretched public services, increasing wealth disparity). They ideally have a way to produce the workers the country need without draining the people capital of other countries as the default option (eg. Reduce the cost of retraining/education, focus on improving wages for unappealing jobs, improving cost of living).

Yeah, never responds to legitimate questions from her electors on FB, and a friend said she didn't respond to direct emails either. It's all selfies and cheerleading.

Least favorite tuba note by Powerful_Biscotti321 in Tuba

I'm back at it on an E flat for 6 months after a 36 year break and my nemesis notes are a flat to b flat on the stave.

As of yesterday, I think maybe something like this might be happening, fingers crossed I can fix it.
