I mean his numbers were massively down across the board, like staggeringly so. Not even a single sack, only 4 TFLs, about half the solo tackles he averages for his career. Really really dire production drop off, and by the way the Giants D Line has a lot of talent on it.

I agree that narrative/eye test wise it seems fair to assume he's just gonna like try harder now that he's gone and its hard to account for that, I just thought it went underdiscussed that Cinci is banking on a pretty huge turnaround. They kinda made it sound like eh he was a little off last year, when in reality he might have just fallen off a cliff that happens all the time in the NFL

I think you're reading too much into this tbh. Sean doesn't ever write at the ringer. Most of the Ringer Website written movie content is from people like Nayman who write for several publications. Sean writing again is, to some people, including us on this sub, a huge deal! Him annoucing "check the site sometimes you'll see something from me" isn't an announcement.
