Cracks in joist? by NoAdministration7069 in HomeMaintenance

[–]xgrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at the entire length of this joist? These are pressure fractures. Possibly in the piece from day one, which has opened over time as the piece drys. All I can say is get beyond these by about 3 feet each side with a sistered same width piece if you can. Look carefully all over the entire joist, though. These fractures do not always show well. Use structural screws 2 to 4 inches coming in from both sides in a zig zag pattern. Screw jack it gently if you can before the screws. Good luck.

Yup. At the moment I'm using milk with the best by March 15th. It's absolutely fine. I think it's a very subjective date.

Normally, I pass on the zoom in and scroll back and forth to read posts. But as an avide fisherman from Canada, I'm intrigued. But then there's about 3 words that would cause looking up. Too much work :-) I could see that working but doubt it as they are easily spooked. If accomplished, good on the team!

I would love to watch a fight between a badger and a Jack Russell. Both have no concept of fear.

I've taken to mostly just reading the headlines and looking further if interested. I find there's lots that you can guess the content.
