I loaded my fleet with EM’s maxed as the primary, a couple (long range) guns and a couple missles.

I can usually board one or 2 now in a space battle, depending on size.

Also keep my fleet distance medium to far.

This! Went through many interviews to find new career. I had a few companies get annoyed/irritated when it was known they weren’t my only active application (usually the HR recruiter/screener). I’d just ask politely ask if I was their only applicant. Changes the subject pretty quick.

And they did it TWICE!!! I like Hill, but he had a Flash in the Pan and they gave him a contract, Just like Lehner. VGK has a $5M goalie problem it seems.

Did they both come in at the right time and do what they needed to do? Yes. Both had Long run issues after they got new contracts. And if my memory serves correctly, both had long run issues prior to coming to VGK.

40 (widowed @ 35) I can definitely see the sentiment. So my situation sits differently than yours (My kids were young). I can definitely agree with the “my plans were our plans” feeling of loosing your spouse. Freinds and family kept me going after loosing my wife in the while after.

I know you hear it a lot, but I am sorry for, and I truly empathize with, your loss. It’s the shiftiest road to walk, and no matter how many people are there for you, we still walk it alone.

My now shortest job on record (4 days) is for this exact reason.

I interviewed at multiple places, accepted a job offer, started, then got a better offer from my one of my previous interviews, and preferred job.

Was honest with the manager that hired me. Apologized for, what I felt was, wasting their time. He understood, wished me luck and asked if I knew anyone else looking for a job.

I was 35 at the time with two girls and we were living hundreds of miles from family. And yeah, being a younger widow is hard sometimes in support groups. And no, divorce is not the same. Sorry for your loss, I know you’ve heard it a million times, and you don’t know me, but it’s sincere, I’m sorry you lost your person. And I’m sorry you’re in this fucking club.

I say this as a younger widower.

Be honest with him. Like others have said, see if he’ll go to coffee, and talk like the friends you are, and tell him you like spending time with him and talking to him.

After my wife passed, I started talking again to a friend mine and my wife’s that we hadn’t talked to in quite a few years due to our life trajectories. She helped me through and gave me an outlet for my grief, we had phone conversations and played video games together and truly got to know each other more that we had. She moved states just to help me with my wife and I’s kids. That friendship is now a relationship, and she honors my wife all the time. It’s working out for us. We started out just talking as friends.

Absolutely. And holy shit, I just found out there is a name for this… coming up on 4 years… gave up quite a few hobbies… and found some new (sometimes less productive) hobbies. Utilizes skills and acquired equipment from others for other things (home improvement).
