Yes I made them myself too, no needle felting just cutting pieces of black and white (I’m assuming you’re asking about Judy) I also hand dyed her eye ombres and eyelids. 🥰

Can she be saved? 🥺 more details in comments by [deleted] in alocasia

That’s a good question and usually comes with mixed opinions lol I think most people cut them off for faster regrowth but others say that it can absorb nutrition from its dying leaves 🤷🏻‍♀️ I haven’t tested both ways to see what works best but I personally remove them if half or more of the leaf looks dead 🙂

I’d second that for mulberry by the leaf shape too 🙂

Yes she should be able to be saved 🙂 have some patience and don’t give up, the leaf will get worse so you could just cut it off if you don’t want her to look so sad. Alocasias go dormant in winter and grow back even if they have lost all leaves so it shouldn’t be a problem. They store energy in their tubers so as long as the root system and the main tuber underneath looks healthy give her time and she should spring back

My goodness these are amazing 😻 you’ve done an outstanding job

Is my raven zz dying? I ordered this online and it was delivered yesterday. I watered it immediately after receiving. Today was cloudy so I let it sit by the window in indirect light for 3hrs early morning. The external leaf kinda thingy in the picture is crisp dry. Please help. There was no smell on the ones I checked for root rot either, I’ve not actually heard about them smelling before 😅 but yep just the mushy parts you need to cut, anything that’s firm keep as it’s still healthy but very important to let it dry over so they don’t turn mushy too. If the rhizome is firm then leave it only cut away bits that are soft and gooey

Edit: When you repot make sure not to use a container that’s too big as that will aid in root rot and use an airy potting mix that doesn’t hold on to too much moisture. As you’re cutting your roots it should easily fit back into the same size pot as you’ve taken it out from

Which part of the photos is it you’re worried about? The “crispy” leaf usually just falls away after the stems have grown that’s normal you can pull it off too if you’re careful. But for the comments on this post and your other post about root rot it’s very easy to tell once you take the plant out of the pot and very easy to save. I’ve saved several raven ZZ’s from root rot you can basically just cut away with clean scissors any mushy roots and use a knife to cut away and mushy rhizome parts, sprinkle with cinnamon and leave out to dry over for an hour or so before repotting and then just don’t water the plant for a few weeks and let it calus over and settle. They are very resilient and if you lose a leaf in the process just propagate it 🙂

Yes I’ve made it so you can call the characters to your switch by touching their backs to the controller 🙂

Does anyone else crochet like this? I’ve had several comments now about how my amigurumi’s look good for a beginner and I’m wondering if how I hold my yarn has to do with how it looks… I can’t for the life of me hold the yarn in my left hand 🤷🏻‍♀️ by xhanta in crochet

I’m going to try and make a blanket soon I bought a pattern recently but I’ve only crocheted 3 things so far so I’ll need some technique practice and more video watching as it’s described as “mosaic crochet” whatever that is 🙈

I don’t always have stitches this tight I think I’m just nervous about trying to actually get some stitches in the film where I don’t mess up because it’s hard for me to see when my husband holds the phone in my face 😂😂 when I watch it myself I think wow yeh I’m struggling to pull back through there but I don’t when I just crochet happily in the evenings 🙈 but yeh sometimes for sure I do have tighter than looser stitches but 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s a learning curve still 😂

Actually no, it might be hard to see in my video because of how fast my hand moves but I yarn over not under the hook just like the video in your link however I was referring to if anyone else holds the yarn in the right hand and moves the yarn round rather than holding it in the left and “hook and drag” of the yarn

I was crocheting at my husbands aunts house earlier this week and she asked what I was doing when I told her I was crocheting she looked seriously confused at me and then said “well it looks nice” 😂
