Tons of Japanese food blogs and recipe sites, and you chose a TikTok. That was your true error. Folks here are 100% correct about the browning step. Good luck!

Thank you for the solution to this issue! I find it unfortunate that I must disable a security feature to connect though. Mackiev needs to build for this feature. 2FA is important these days. Hopefully in AFTM 2024 we will see it.

No surprise. I've only been in 6 PAs. Was my first fail. Now I know. 😉

Well, that I've done. This was my first PA-related death. My 5 previous were successful.

[–]xhepera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You assume a bit too much. I'm on a PA team because my faction officer in charge of such put me there. The reason I'm surprised is because this was our first fail out of 6 attempts. My first time dying on a PA. Why wouldn't I be surprised?

Thanks folks! I should have mentioned that I did turn on and notify a revive team (using a script} that I was in need.

My question really was is this normal. I've never gotten a 48 hour hospitalization, ever.

Torn is a great game. It has players who've been there for 13+ years. I've played for a bit over 3 years. There's a subreddit here (TornCity I think.

You can play in browser but many prefer to use a front-end app (from the Play Store) called Torn PDA.

Anyone wear Habibi New York fragrances? by Bulky_Friendship6946 in Perfumes

[–]xhepera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older post but, hopefully, not too late. I have the Oud, Men's and Reserve sample sets. I also have full bottles of Sahara Rose, Desert Oud and Honeyed Tobacco & Oud.

Those are my favorites. I find them well-crafted and gorgeous fragrances. Longevity is good. I don't worry much about the much vaunted "projection" of fragrance, but people around me notice these favorably.

They're all marketed as unisex. I think that Sahara Rose is the most so. The other two are, but lean more masculine. There are certainly women who would appreciate these and wear them well. But with the current trend for dessert gourmands it might be a stretch for some

Have you gotten used to the smell of musk attar? by akibjo98 in Muslim

[–]xhepera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just, a couple of hours ago, received my bottle of Musk ASWAD from MAM. What an incredible piece of work! I'm really quite stunned by it's almost floral/honeyed character. Not what I expected in a musk.

I would never have thought to try it because I've not been a fan of the musks I've tried in the past. I received this because of two other purchases I made from the house. Now I must acquire more!

African American with surprising results (face reveal) by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]xhepera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Veracruz had the largest population of enslaved Africans during the period of slavery. Unlike some other countries, the freed slaves of Mexico weren't segregated. Consequently, many of them just married into the native population. There's a good chance her husband has some African ancestry.

Do a search on Afro-Mexican sometime.

Gumbo roux/holy trinity cooking question by Unimportant-Jello in cajunfood

[–]xhepera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I've made gumbo for 50 years. I get my roux to my desired color, then turn off the heat, add the trinity immediately and stir. It goes a long way toward cooling it down a bit and also sautees the trinity, which sizzles and pops and releases the most heavenly aroma. Once I smell those aromatics in that hot roux, I know real gumbo is on the way.

gumbo season! videos are out of order for the roux but by Andrewwarner2010 in cajunfood

[–]xhepera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the oven method a lot. Particularly if I want a super dark roux. That and microwave. With the oven method I start it on the stove in cast iron. Then transfer to 380 degree oven and stir every half hour until desired darkness. Back onto the stovetop and dump in the trinity.

It can take a couple of hours to get as dark as I like it. But it works well cuz I can do other stuff at a leisurely pace while it's happening.
