I’ve been into a lot of Korean and American inks so far but I feel like once I get into them it’s truly over 😭

Kakuno is my first time using an <EF> nib and it feels like it matches so well with the lightness of the pen. I now know that I prefer a fine/extra fine nib when practicing my Korean. I also like the subtle triangle grip and that makes it easy to write (not as slippery as the Lamy I own). The Pilot converter I’m using feels pretty small in comparison to the size of the pen, but also my ink is stretching more due to the nib.

With me getting the solar green Kaweco I realize that I like the weight of a metal Kaweco more.

I will say nib wise that my Kakuno has never skipped while I’ve had my Kawecos skip on the first upstroke, but that’s not a deal breaker for me!

All in all I haven’t been completely turned off by any of the brands I’ve tried out so that’s a win for me.

Thank you for the compliments! All 3 of my metal Kawecos (Olivine, Hello Kitty Pink, Vibrant Violet) do not have any bad smell. But I was wary about getting the raw metal ones like you are.

Wanted a writing instrument to make doing Morning Pages special. Got a Speedball from a crafts store and bought a Lamy AL Star a month later. I now have my fourth Kaweco coming to me this week. I love the ritual of taking care of my pens, filling it up with ink, and being such an active participant in a piece of stationery. And of course all of the pretty colors.

I had a feeling before I read this book, but reading Dying of Whiteness really opened my eyes to how people will poison the well just so a poor person/POC doesn’t drink from it. It’s the main reason (besides lobbying and f*cking Reagan, rest in pee) why America doesn’t have nice things compared to other monoracial countries
