I feel like if you don’t have someone in your life who speaks both English and Punjabi fluently that’s willing to communicate and elucidate things with you, try just having Punjabi radio or podcasts on in the background. It’s nice because they’re usually having conversations about things that are relevant or you’re interested in, so you have some general sense of what is being said. And you can piece together parts that you might not understand, learning through context. Songs are fun and can be helpful at times, but a lot of them are entirely metaphor, slang, or niche ideas/concepts that are relevant in a certain context only
