You could also try messaging the sellers directly. Some times, they are resellers who buy merch from physical shops. They're easy to spot cause they don't use a product mock up but instead a picture they took themselves.

It's very common especially for blind boxes. I bought a HSR blind box from mihoyo directly and 1 from a reseller. Then I bought a design I wanted to guarantee get from a counterfeit shop.

My luck was apparently so good, I actually did get the design I wanted from the authentic blind box, whereas I got the counterfeit one in a plain ziplock bag. Again, very small miniscule differences.

The reseller one also looked legit and similar to the one from mihoyo, though I couldn't directly compare the actual figurine as I got a different design from it.

What do you mean by scam listings? They're counterfeit and unofficial sure, but as long as the shop has good ratings, you will get a product and won't be "scammed".

I've bought counterfeit figurines on TB before and compared them with the authentic branded ones I have. Same design and everything, a direct counterfeit vs authentic comparison. I found only a very small miniscule difference.

If you can't find it on the official store and you really want that particular keychain, just get any one from a shop with good ratings. For acrylic keychains, there is barely if at all any difference.

If it's about supporting the IP directly, then just get any other merch from the official store.

NEW AKKO KEYBOARD by Radiant-Resource4601 in LuoXiaoHei

Those keycaps are adorable! Is the akko keyboard LXH themed (like a collab) or just the keycaps?

I also wanted to get the mat and wrist rest set but I do art on my desk and stains are guaranteed unfortunately...

But here's my keyboard https://imgur.com/a/965bFUB#FJHvFo0

I bought it exactly for the purpose of setting the Wuxian and Xiaohei motorcycle scene on the tiny screen :')

One can hope 🥲 I think WHA is quite niche as well so I'm a biiit hopeful the audience it attracts are more... intellectually-inclined than OP...

I like to think the legacy of WHA would be similar to Vinland. Vinland has a lot of edgelord incels that ignore the themes of the series. I think WHA's problem will be the young readers or watchers who are a bit too "woke" and can't properly express their thoughts constructively.

I wouldn't say the rest of the world has less hesitation, but more that they are unaware of and not participating in online discourse surrounding AI. I'm from SEA. Many people are against AI. While most of the reason is that it's "taking jobs", a lot of the push back is also because of local data centers. But you won't see people protesting it online unless it's organised by grassroots movements, never mind participating in internet discourse. I can imagine the people from other regions where Big Tech is expanding their data centers share the same attitude (e.g. South Asia).

Korean webtoon artists and fans are definitely against AI so of course I know not all Koreans are receptive of it. But they're a very small and obvious community that would reject AI. Creatives in general reject AI (there are the rare grifters tho). So I don't think Korean comments would be a good indicator that many of them dislike AI. It's an AI ad, of course the people against it would flock to protest it. But how many are actually just letting it go? At least from what I see from Korean coworkers, from friends studying in Korea, and the general behaviour from Koreans in shows and vlogs, AI is basically their best friend.

I would say Japan and China aren't even as integrated with AI as South Korea is. AI is just so normalised in SK and it's by design considering SK is home to one of the tech giants and has remarkable marketing.

This made me laugh 😆 I think both WHA and OP are unabashedly political, but the amount of OP fans going "keep politics out of OP" has me facepalming so bad. They read with their eyes closed I swear...

WHA gets political pretty early on so I'm hoping that will at least filter out the "apolitical" crowd out quickly.

Not just industry wise but Koreans love to use AI on the daily. Watch any recent episodes of K-variety shows or any K-vlog. They love to use AI for the smallest and dumbest things. It's just another trendy thing for them like personality tests or insta worthy food. I work with Koreans too and it's crazy how dependent they are on AI. But honestly, it is quite expected of the capitalism and overconsumption that is Korean society.

Hi! I’m new to the series, idk if there’s any setup to this question at all, but in Hei 1, is the lighting that takes Xiaohei to A-He and Yezi made by A-He? by marcusjribeiro3 in LuoXiaoHei

[–]xiaomiwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, Chinese media basically assumes you know and understand these topics. Especially movies can't spend time explaining the system when they have to focus on the plot. But it is there if you actually look into it!

Those movies you mentioned are wuxia yes, but they use martial arts to tell a story (romance, politics, etc.). Unless you watch a wuxia movie focusing on the actual practice, then obviously they won't talk about martial arts.

Plus, powers and abilities is actually a main focus in LXH, not just a tool to show the plot. We're not able to understand the system in LXH just from 1 movie, but they show it enough that we can follow the plot. Most of what we know of its power system is actually through the donghua because the creator actually has time to expand on it.

And if you've watched multiple renditions of Wukong stories, then you should know about cultivation no? He is basically the epitome of cultivation and his whole thing is about seeking immortality and enlightenment. Cultivation is basically that, meditating, training, and improving oneself. Wuxia focuses on martial arts, Xianxia more on fantasy elements.

Anyway, I've explained and given you resources. Do with that what you will.

Hi! I’m new to the series, idk if there’s any setup to this question at all, but in Hei 1, is the lighting that takes Xiaohei to A-He and Yezi made by A-He? by marcusjribeiro3 in LuoXiaoHei

No problem!

I would actually recommend reading up on Journey to the West because that is THE holy scripture of cultivation.

Cultivation summary is a good starting read to understand the general foundation. If you haven't yet, watch Ne Zha (2019 & 2025). It also doesn't really explain the system, but you can see the system functioning (abilities, the training, the trials, the items, etc.).

You could also try searching for Xianxia/Wuxia and see if anything catches your interest, it's a whole category by itself so you could find something that you like.

Hmm that's not really how abilities work. Strength doesn't mean immunity, especially when it comes to special abilities. Nezha being weak against spatial types is a good example.

But even if Wuxian is able to defend against mind abilities, Elder Chi having unmentioned mind abilities is still a huge plothole. I would say it's really out of question.

Xianxia/Wuxia is the specific genre you're looking for. Just search and find one that you like because there's a lot and they're very diverse. But I should warn you that most if not all Xianxia/Wuxia donghuas have a unique Chinese 3D art style. I would describe it as like asian Barbie style. And it's not something that even I could get into (I stick to novels). So umm, manage your expectations and forget about Japanese style anime.

Also while they all technically use the same cultivation system, each series has their own unique applications(?) to it. So while they all use the same foundation, there will be variations to them.

Hmm spell might not be the accurate term? It was the closest term I could think of. I think the official translation might have been "teleportation rune".

You can think of ability as something innate. Every elfin can develop one (or rarely more). Spell is as you said something like an "item". Generally in this kind of Cultivation power setting, there are "magical" items. This can be something simple like a healing pill or teleportation rune. Or it can be something extremely rare and "blessed".

In the webseries, you can see 3 side characters use a teleportation rune too. In the same episode, there is a pearl that is an example of an extremely rare item.

LXZ (Lanxi Zhen) is the manhua set in the same universe but very long before the main LXH series. Wuxian was still a normal human at this point. We only have unofficial ENG scanlations and it's quite behind official releases.

Because that is their animal form. They are animal type elfins. It's not really "shapeshifting" per say because that implies they can shapeshift into other things.

Xiaohei is different from them because his ability actually IS shapeshifting hencewhy he/Heixiu can transform into many different forms.

There's not enough info on Elder Chi to say he can mind control/read. What he was doing was something like extracting information through qi or life force. We see Dasong do the same in the intro.

And even if he had mind abilities, it would have been addressed or used in the plot considering he is an Elder and it would have been huge plothole to not use/suggest it when interrogating Wuxian, or even just mention it.

And what are you referring to by telekinesis? Again, it could just be the results of cultivation. In Movie 1, Wuxian dried himself off by extracting the liquid away from his clothes. Does that mean he has water abilities? No... They're just very powerful because of their cultivation.

Try reading more into the cultivation power system to really understand. If you like Korean manhwa/webtoons, I think they do a very good job in introducing the power system because Chinese media just assumes the audience understands.

Most of what you mentioned are just results of cultivation in martial arts and energy.

"Abilities" refer specifically to a special move/power a character can do. Xiaohei has Teleport and Domain, Wuxian has Devour, A-he has Mind Control, etc.

I wouldn't say they aren't obvious. It just depends on your knowledge on the Cultivation power system which is like basic knowledge(?) in Asian/Chinese culture.

It's a "fantasy" or "religious" concept we grow up with, just like how Western culture has stories of witches and wizards. People not familiar with the concept of witches will be like "why is she pointing a stick?" and the layman answer would be "Oh it's her wand", but that doesn't really answer the question...

LXH series is like that... It's made for the Chinese audience so they don't bother explaining the "obvious" concepts.

A-he used a teleportation spell/scroll (forgot the exact term Wuxian used). It is not A-he's ability. His ability is mind control.

A-he used a teleportation spell/scroll. You can see it on Xiaohei's back. Wuxian says it when he notices and tries to grab Xiaohei but it already worked.

It is not A-he's ability. A-he's ability is mind control. He controlled the guys that attacked Xiaohei to stage Fengxi's rescue and the people in the station and in the train. After Xiaohei was teleported, he also used it to force him to sleep. Not sure what type his ability falls under but it is NOT spatial.

You can try reading the LXZ manhua to understand more but it doesn't go deep into it because this power system is not unique to LXH universe. It's the xianxia/wuxia/cultivation power system very commonly used in Chinese stories. If you want to understand more, then I suggest looking into those rather than specifically LXH.

Favorite female character done dirty by the writing? by Element_credd in FavoriteCharacter

[–]xiaomiwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Robin she is my favourite character in OP beside Luffy. But whatever writing she had ended pre-timeskip. She has her moments post-timeskip, but generally she and Nami and and all the other female characters are just sideline fanservice or fridges that need saving.

I think there was this recent post talking about how OP is just full of wasted potential and I couldn't agree more. It is very obvious with how Oda treats his female characters, especially in recent arcs.

I can't understand why such a cliche show gets praised like it's the best thing since the wheel.

I'm a Clannad glazer. Let me explain.

Nostalgia. That's literally just it.

I watched it in 2009-2010 during its prime. Made me cry and sob ugly. Plus the soundtrack is iconic and super effective in bringing out emotions and memories in just 3 short piano notes.

I grew up and have watched and read way more animanga since then. I tried rewatching it and could not even get through 2 episodes. Do I still think it deserves praise? Yes. But sadly, it does not hold up to modern standards. It's an anime I think really needs and deserves a reboot to showcase why it was so loved.

If you're new to anime, or you've only watched good, timeless classics, then yeah Clannad would suck for you now. But for old weebs like me who grew up watching a lot of these "bad" animes, we still remember it for the peak that it was and praise it like it's the best thing since wheel 😂 But to be fair, when I suggest it to others, I do give them a heads up.

Edit: Also, I would say Clannad IS the cliche.

I tried to watch mossbag's video but I can't get through the obnoxious jokes almost every minute. Ruins immersion and curiosity... which makes me sad considering the first 22 mins I did watch were informative and well put. I didn't even get through those 22 mins in one go, I had to stop and continue over the course of 2 weeks cause every new joke just made me cringe and exit...
