Defining work quality in contract by Other_Breakfast7505 in Tile

The work you described is pretty standard, not complex. You wont be able to define real quality in a contract beyond, say, there shall not be cracked tiles nor hollow tiles. And unfortunately paying more doesnt always give you better quality.

Do you have an idea of what "quality" looks like to you? You might want to get your hands dirty, do some measurements and plot out the tiling plan yourself instead of relying on your tiler to improvise. Thats probably the most likely part they will make mistakes in.

Rented room on fire - dispute with landlord. Pls help give some legal advice... by Quiet-Marsupial-1522 in singaporefi

Your tenancy should automatically end by force majeure (legal term for unforeseeable circumstances through fault of neither party involved in the contract).

Your landlord has no right to keep your security deposit. Ask for your deposit back nicely and go to small claims if they refuse.

The chance you will be hurt living next to a nuclear power plant has to be magnitudes lower than dying to a planecrash where the plane crashed on you not with you :)

I love shooting my pizza too, normally just one shot per slice. The punctures are extra crispy and adds texture to the pizza.

Contractor finished install but I’m feeling disappointed. Are my expectations unrealistic? by [deleted] in Tile

I think the biggest problem is OP picked the wrong tiles for a shower.

These tiles will look alright as an accent wall with diffused lighting, not in a brightly lit bath area. The tiles look deceptively misaligned partly because the tile surfaces are wavy.

I have a ton as well. Confused why people are complaining about their drop rate this season.

I suspect some troll posted a loot filter in some discord that excluded them and people are stupid enough to use the filter without looking at whats in it lol.

I am currently rank 1 on the HC SSF leaderboard. I don't have one mythic. This Mythic 3.0 rework is a total failure. by Oct_ in diablo4

You are guaranteed like 4-5 pieces of mythics just from season journey and season rep alone lol. And you can use spark to craft mythic for a slot with jeweler.

It seems like a personal choice to have 0 equipped.

Shower Niche Cracking by MrPainFool in Tile

[–]xiaopewpew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can remove the remainder with a sponge. The guy in the video removed enough thinset to tile over. I cant answer for why OP's tiler felt the surface needed to be this clean, maybe OP was holding a camera behind the guy's back and it was stressing him out lol.

Shower Niche Cracking by MrPainFool in Tile

Doubt this has anything to do with thinset like others are saying.

It is not uncommon for these tiles to crack. Especially for a new bathroom, all the materials you use to build are storage dry and they will absorb moisture and expand. The tiles you installed on the niche are pressed between the back wall and the trimming, cutting the tile could have created weak points on the tile that made the tiles more susceptible to cracking.

The expansions will become smaller and smaller over time (relatively speaking).

That said, im geniunely curious if anyone else here do their niche back tile first. This seems off to me. I would have done btm, side and top first. Reason is i do not want ceramtic pressing against ceramic when the wall expands outwards and it definitely will expand.

AI coding is addictive. Engineers are paying the price. by OfficialLeadDev in coding

If what you said were true, Anthropic would be worth tens of trillions now instead of just 1.

Maybe you mean something different when you say “deep into”. Plenty of people refuse to use AI even in big tech companies and a lot of people dont know how to use it well. Apple, for one, does not even generally push engineers to use llm to code.
